Oddly enough... a 'human' SPRINTER can have similar considerations... or a football wide receiver... As they add muscles and power, they are also adding weight... soon you have a running back that has power to break thru the Defense (such as a Herschel Walker) but has become a bigger Target and is hauling 250 pounds of body weight...

Austin, I think this is a fantastic car. Great review once again. I currently have a 2021 HTC and on the list at three dealers for an E-Ray. I'm just concerned how few are coming off the assembly line these days. Is there something wrong with it? With the ZR1 been announced for production soon, will the E-Ray fall further behind in production and become obsolete soon...?

Have you read about the future Ferrari 250 to combat the Zora---maybe for a mere $2,000,000. HHmmmmm----maybe a $250,000 ZORA will become a true WORLD CLASS SUPER CAR and at a SUPER value! I have had a brand new red Viper (yes--red with the yellow calipers) , a new red ZO6 a while back and a Lamborghini Murcielago and a red Posrche Turbo S for 2 years and sold it in 2021 for a brand new white, yes white Plaid---I never thought the Porsche would be topped---but the PLAID is an INSANE car in every respect. I bought the Plaid in white because I wanted to "blend in". When you leave every stoplight like a Rocket Ship I guess you cease to blend in!!!!!!!!! Now to the future-----I am on a "special list" for a low serial number ZORA---and cannot believe how excited I am for this future Super Car. I loved your video!!! Great analysis!!!!! Keep them coming!!!!!!!!!

Spoilers are for light cars. What does the car weigh? Spoiler, more for marketing I would bet. A good comparison would be on a track, with and without the spoiler. Especially on a long straight. i track a 14 Gt500. Good track tires and brakes will always win the day.

I can't wait for another Vette! Hopefully they can apply some of this new 4 wheel drive features to a version of the base model which I prefer to the Z06/Eray. A cleaner look I find!

The base model is such a great car for the money. I think AWD would be great for it, however, there's no space for a front drivetrain unit other than the single e-motor placed in the E-Ray. So, I don't really think we'd see anything like this for a standard Corvette. I'm with you though, it would be great!

ZR1 will be a cross plane (Caddy GTP style (4 cam)) with turbos and electric driven front wheels. Hopefully more CF and magnesium/titanium pieces so fatty will not be 4,000lbs +.

Yes, more carbon fiber and lightweight materials are critical. When factoring in the motor design we likely will see, it sure will keep the Z06 as a special car down the road. There's nothing like a FPC V8!

Yes, from the knowledge we have so far, it is different from the ZR1. The ZR1 will likely follow the forced induction route from the prior generations. The ZORA will likely bring this car and the ZR1 together.

#230 owner here for the 2024 Eray. It's an amazing car. Bang for the buck it's a much better buy over any porsche in my opinion. People don't realize this car comes STANDARD with Carbon Ceramic Brakes & rotors, Magnaride suspension, Forged wheels, Wide body kit, Stealth Mode, 360 degree cameras, self closing front/rear trunks, etc and people are dynoing 575 hp/620#Torque TO THE WHEELS bone stock. Incredible value for an all around sports car. The fact that it can look good while hanging with super/hyper cars stop light to stop like for 1/4-->1/10th the price is incredible.

With reports of Porsche announcing a new hybridized 911 by the end of the month, it looks like we might have an E-Ray competitor from Porsche sooner or later. Something like a hybridized Carrera 4 GTS could be pretty interesting.

Never understood this car. However, I think I’m starting to see why it was created. Just how they went about doing it the way they did, I don’t get…yet. Was it GM just trying to reinvent or invent something to stand out? After all, GM is known for automotive inventions.then, sometimes I think they just used their over stocked batteries from Chevy Volt/Bolt to save cost, lol. GM is also known for recycling a lot of their products in many cars.

I hate to tell you this, but the timer on the ERay’s are not correct. PURPOSELY DONE OR JUST NOT CALIBRATED, either way They lie! Those cars DO NOT get 2.2 0-60 Please use your dragy and you will see..

Well as fast as this car is it will NEVER Draggy at 2.2. The other KZbinr Jesse has already gone to a track and proved this. The in car timer is definitely NOT accurate. But most of your friends will never know so just tell them 2.2! lol Awesome car! With the latest release of the ZR1 being a Flatplane crank twin turbo this won’t see much more hype. It’s a great car like you said though. And Zero to 60 will beat most out there!

TBH, I was kind of unimpressed by the numbers from this car, relative to the Z06. It SHOULD be way faster than the Z06, but it just isn't.

@@norwegianblue2017 , even with the difference in the main powerplant? The 6.2 vs the 5.5? Power at the REAR wheels is COMPLETELY in favor to the Z06.

@@stevennatale4471 The base Stingray 6.2 actually has more torque than the 5.5. Then you add another instant delivery of 160hp/125lb-ft torque to the front and make it AWD, the E-Ray should be much quicker than the Z06 in a straight line. The only factor that I can see holding it back is the increased weight.
