Camp Me Too! is a two day, one-night camp for children ages 7-16 designed to help grieving children learn ways to explore their grief through innovative techniques.
Why “me too” because children grieve and process loss, too. After being on hiatus for several years due to the pandemic, Stella Maris hosted fourteen children and offered many therapeutic forms of recreation to help these wonderful humans to manage grief, heal and recover while having fun in nature.
The Counseling Center at Stella Maris is grateful for the time our incredible volunteers provided to serve the bereaved children in our area. Through their commitment as a volunteer “Buddy” during our 10th annual overnight bereavement camp for children ages 7-16, Camp Me Too! was an amazing, healing success!
Each volunteer played a significant role at the camp - a listening companion, cook, nurse, station lead, clean up and/or kitchen/cabin support to these grieving children at the camp. Responsibilities along with our program and God's grace helped enable the camper's grief process on the beautiful and natural grounds of Camp Puh’Tok in Monkton, Maryland.
