As you demonstrated with those picks/matchups, it’s the best argument yet for going to a 16 team playoff with no conference championships. 1) No real point to a conference championship game except money for the conference 2) How can you have a team like BYU jumping a 2 or 3 loss Penn State? How can you have a Florida State moving from like 10-12 ranking to getting a bye. Etc etc etc.

the 12 team format looks promising, except for granting a G5 team outside of the top 12. Teams still have much incentive to gain a home field outside of winning a conference title. The 8-9 debate will be crazy, along with the 4-5 conference title winners coming up in December.
