The new stipulations only include one G5, whoever is the highest ranked conference champ. There is no way they would put in another g5 team if theres a 1, 2 or even 3 loss P5 team, especially if its one from the B10 or SEC.

To have two G5 teams requires either a lot of chaos or a lot of talent. Theoretically you could still have two G5 teams in, because of Boise State. I say Boise State, because this season marks the first of a gauntlet OOC seasons. If BSU were to lose their conference they still play OOC games against Oregon, and UH and play Oregon State as OOC in season as well. Over the next 8 seasons BSU is positioning themselves if they ever have a good team, but drop a game they still would make a legitimate argument to make the playoffs. Theres also a lot of overlap in OOC schedules between the MWC and B12, B10 and ACC as a result of previous OOC with PAC schools that are now in those conferences, so if the MWC performs well in OOC you very well could have two G5 teams still in it.

UC was 9-0 and beat #16 SMU, #22 Army, #23 Tulsa CCU was 11-0 and beat #13 BYU and #15 Louisiana How do you determine which team should be ranked to make the playoffs?

College football on TV will look a little different next season with CBS no longer televising any SEC games. ABC/ESPN will have the exclusive rights to the SEC. CBS, along with FOX and NBC will have the exclusive rights to Big Ten games.

no tcu broke that barrier. the only thing that tcu nd washington proved is that cinderella’s/ one year wonders do not prevail in college football. the 12 team playoff will be more exciting because of more games but if you think for a second that a 10-2 boise state or tulane would win a title just because of the playoff format then you’re lying to yourself.

they need to forget the group of 5. those teams rarely beating legit top 10 teams is rare. they want teams like that in the hunt, make them play 2 top 10 teams and beat both then they can be involved in playoffs

Many teams that have made the playoffs in the last decade havent done this. Second it may not happen next season, but historically there have been teams that should be part of this argument such as 2020 UC and CCU. Third, what exactly is your definition of rare seeing as G5 teams accomplished this feat in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2020, 2021 and 2022?

I dont have a problem with the odds they showed at the beginning for any of the teams except for texas. IMO, they're being very overrated this pre-season. I don't think their team is even as good as they were last year let alone better. They're good and likely go 10-2, but thats only because they have about as easy of an SEC schedule as u can get. i wouldn't be surprised if they went 9-3 or even 8-4, but I would be very surprised if they went better than 10-2. Its like everyone forgot just how mid they were for the better part of 2 decades before last year and act like theyve been an elite team for a long time.

If Boise State goes undefeated next year youd have a very tough time not putting them in the top 10. They would have road wins over Oregon, Oregon State and UH + their conference. Also imagine thinking Boise State isnt a good G5 program..... - Better record than any G5 team of the last 25 seasons - Better bowl record than any G5 team of the last 25 seasons - 5 undefeated seasons (more than double any other team the last 25 seasons) - 15 conference titles the last 25 seasons - undefeated 4-0 in major bowls - Only team in the NCAA to never record a losing season in the 21st century - Only team in the NCAA to play ranked road OOC opponents every season the last decade (except 2020)

@@michaelhasse2568 For every Liberty vs Oregon, theres UH vs FSU, or UCF vs Auburn or Tulane vs USC, and thats not even all of them in the last 10 years. Next year your gonna have Oregon State and Washington State as a seperate conference, but will play more P5 teams than G5 teams will be able to schedule. So if any G5 team has the same record as these teams does that mean the G5 is gonna get shafted yet again? * I dont think WSU or OSU are going to go undefeated. Even outside of their OOC schedules of the 6 teams eeach of them play with the MWC I think those schools are gonna be surprised how close they really are with the MWC. Oregon State has Oregon, but also Air Force, SDSU and Boise State all on the road. Even home vs UNLV and Utah State arent gonna fun games. Washington State has Washington, but also Texas Tech and SDSU, Fresno State and Boise State all on the road.
