At the 2024 12 Hrs of Sebring taking a look at the 2024 Chevrolet Traverse Z71!
Pretty good looking newly redesigned Traverse and specially in this new Z71 trim! Since overlanding has become pretty popular as of lately, seems that most manufactures are introducing a mid size suv with some sord of off road tuned trim, like the Explorer Timberline, Nissan Pathfinder Rock Trail. I think it looks good and it will be fun to have the chance to drive one and take one off road. Let me know what you think about this new Traverse in the comments.

Got the rs ordered and waiting so exciting….previous car 2009 Chrysler 300 no issues. Only change was timing belt still runs good but ready for an updated car and this is the perfect car with all new tech and screens also price point is right where it should be. Not the cheapest. But not nothing crazy can’t wait

Right! as far as I have heard, Chevy pushed back the production dates, they are now in production and I think just started to send to dealers, but its going slow..

The number of cylinders isn't what tow ratings are based on, it's ft-lb torque. My '23 Silverado has 2.7 turbo (310 horse / 430 torque) is rated to pull 9,000 lbs (same as 5.3 V8) . The old Traverse had 3.6 V6 (310 horse/266 torque). New Traverse 2.5 turbo (328 horse/326 torque) will have similar if not greater tow rating.

It's still not out and neutered 4 banger. Chevy isn't doing itself any favors. Nobody knows hows this thing drives and you can't tell me a 4 banger can tow anything.

My new '23 Silverado w/ 2.7 turbo I-4 is rated to tow 9k lbs - 430 ft-lb torque @ 3,000 rpm -vs- 5.3 w/ similar tow rating w/ less torque - only 383 ft-lbs @ higher 4,100 rpm. The 2.5 turbo 326 ft-lb torque will have a similar tow rating as the old 3.6 V6 266 ft-lb torque. Numbers don't lie.

The info I've read states tow rating of 5,000 lbs, same as 3.6 V6, w/ 19% increase in torque. Don't be concerned w/ loss of 2 cylinders. The turbo more than makes up for it- 19% increase to be exact.

I'm into the looks of the truck, however i'm not really a fan of all these new small turbocharged engines. I can't really fault GM for government mandates though, it seems the glory days of the V8 are done thanks to Biden and this "green" garbage. Time will tell how long these engines can last under strain, for people hauling materials and pup trailers daily it's a concern

Yes its unfortunate that manufactures are going that way, sucks that the tech for better V6,V8's is not longer being considered. Its fine to have a couple of electric cars/hybrids but keep some gas engines for the ones who like them! Cars are getting heavier and engines are getting smaller! hmm

@@petersautovlog I don't understand it at all, the gas mileage increase is negligeable, and for anybody that tows I bet it will go down or be much more on maintenance due to engine strain

If someone wants a daily driver with good power, anything 330-400 horse power is very good. I've tried the V6 turbocharged GWM Tank 500 (which gives around 345 hp, but I think it's a bit heavier than the traverse; which gives around 328 hp). For me, if it accelerates in a good way, that's what matters. And it looks good, so win-win for me.

You can put more power into a 4 cylinder and it'll dam near outrun a v8

Agreed. It'd be one thing if it was the base engine and they had the twin turbo 3.6L V6 available as optional on a Z71 and standard on RS, with improved towing figures too (7500 lbs could tow most half ton sized travel trailers and most people's boats). GM needs to get their heads on straight! I bought our 2020 GT+ durango over an RS Traverse because V6 to V6, the Durango was rated to tow 6k pounds vs the RS Travers 5k pounds. It just seems like GM is going backwards here.
