This is an interesting, more realistic pattern than the one I use. I'll have to give this a try. Also, I never thought about the push-pin needles. Those could be used in shrimp and crawdad patterns I've been wanting to try. Thanks for the demonstration.

Thanks for posting how to tie this fly. I saw your carp videos and was thinking, I wish I could figure out the pattern. Now I know and appreciate the detail in the video.

When you cast it, you have to hold your mouth right.

I noticed you didn’t whip finish. Will the nail varnish and s/glue hold all that together
@mickeygrantflyfishingtying62462 жыл бұрын
Sure will! I have had at least a dozen fish landed on one of these flies. They hold up quite well

What soze rod are you throwing this fly with? 8 weight?
@mickeygrantflyfishingtying62467 ай бұрын
8 weight but only for the size of the fish. You can easily cast it with a 5 weight no problem. If you look at some of my other videos, you see me fishing this pattern for carp with my fiberglass 8 weight.

@@mickeygrantflyfishingtying6246 thank you sir. One last question....what is the thickness of the foam? 1/8, 1/2. Not the size you cut it, but how thick it is from sticky side to non sticky

@mickeygrantflyfishingtying62462 жыл бұрын
I tie these for carp mostly, but bass and trout will eat them too.

nice tie but you should not wear a dark blue shirt...makes it hard to see what you are doing!
@mickeygrantflyfishingtying62468 ай бұрын
You’re right. Im contemplating making a new video because of that.

Terrible video quality. What were you thinking with the dark shirt??
