Why not just use an alcohol wipe to sterilize the pin instead of carrying a lighter? However it's good to have a lighter in case you need to start a fire. I love seeing what they carry and how they carry it. Super cool.

Those 1L soft flasks with hoses out the top that Mike has look awesome, but I can’t find them online!

@@murrayholland5891 Raidlight flasks are awesome. Two years in and no issues. I use the 500ml versions as a 1l would be flopping around like a salmon on my chest!

I'm only 5'4" and 125 lbs... why do I feel like a full pack would weigh as much as I do?!?😂

I am essentially the same size and weight as you. Carrying all the mandatory gear and water requirements on the first leg meant for a very heavy and very full pack! It does help if you train at least once a week with your full pack so you get use to the way the load rides and so you have an idea of how that much weight impacts your heart rate and pace.

I carried 4 litres the other day and it wasn't too bad - strength training is really key for me
