As a current CVO owner and rider for the last 25 years, I still cannot understand why HD doesn't really step these motors up like the automotive industry has over the last 20 years. 115hp is embarrassing at the current price point. I know it's not a Hayabusa, but for the money, I want more power than I'll ever need. I shouldn't need to buy a Stage X kit to bring a $50k+ bike into this century.

Hi Mr. Matt and Laidlaws team! A very well done presentation and find the shared experiences, opinions, impressions and feedback very informative, educational and enlightening!! I agree that paint, in past, has been significant identifying feature for CVO models (that was "inclusive" into overall price). Now, to add $6,000.00 as an additional charge to an additional CVO charge? is unreasonable (my feeling/ opinion). I also agree that more color options are nice and can appeal to wider consumer potential (example 2014 CVO Road King, 3 color choices). Thank you with all my heart for the efforts energy and assiduous work invested into the video presentations!!

Hi Mr. Matt and Mr. Nick! Thank you for your very comprehensive analysis review and personal perspective/ feedback regarding the '24 CVO! Awesome presentation and production. Agree 100% that the CVO should (for the price) have all the lighting possible (front fork, bag lighting, more custom rear vs. non CVO) (no reflectors). Not crazy custom design features but cool distinctive design features too. The suspension, wheels, engine are well done. Maybe future models add the soft shift with clutch upgrades?? Also agree paint options. Offer maybe, one more color choice and less $$$ for any upgrade. Definitely make paint more distinctive, cool and value for cost.

Great video as usual. I have the 23.5 CVO Street Glide in the Platinum. I agree they made the regular street and road glide very similar to the CVO street glide. Harley should have made something stand out apart from the regular street glide. At 44K it should standout vs the regular models. I really like the new Street glide fairing. I am not a big fan of the new Road Glide fairing. I like clean lines and the head light design looked more clean and not so busy even though it is suppose to resemble an eagle. The biggest problems I have with the new Street/Road glides is the cockpit does look cheap, not having a fully updated inverted front end, and the water jug and horn location. From what HD has done with the sportster line up to now the new baggers it has degraded from the fit finished that people expect from HD. I will add that the new scout 101 is what the Nightster S should be in a 975 package, and what a upgraded Roadster should have been in the 1250 package instead of the Sportster S.

The old model 2023 120th anniversary RG Limited CVO had a nice paint job also. Personally I don't like the paint on any of the 2024 CVO's. I do kind of like the Blue Burst color on the 2024 Road Glide. To each his or her own but to my eyes Harley Davidson has struggled to make a bike in an appealing color for years now.

Very cool bikes. Just hope the cockpitronics do work solidly now, the cabling of HD falls behind the competition, the paintjob is well ahead, the chassis seems less top heavy on the Road Glide (will test it this weekend). Adding a 144ci upgrade would make it roll rear-heavy ;-) In Germany, in orange 54.000EUR + whatever hidden charges. And I wonder if that’s made in 3rd world country, too, as dealers in germany don’t service 1HD bikes. I wonder what one gets with such a bucket full of cheap money these days. I haven’t seen our salaries double or anything in that direction. The CVOs were at the edge of 40K, now wow! The delta is what a proper engine kit would cost you and that’s now … not in.
@GiancarloBenzina7 ай бұрын
How Bad must the Harley navigation system be, that nobody casts a word about it other than, oh, best to use apple car play. If that’s really better? Wow! Just leave it out, don’t offer HD navigation. Or did I miss that they actually have done that? Ah, right, I thought so, it’s meeeh and only included in the CVOs. Wasted money.
@GiancarloBenzina7 ай бұрын
Rode the RoadGlide2024 last weekend. The white glittery Shark. Congrats, huge improvement of the bike against the older models. I thought the old is better, no way, even from an old-school-vibe. Wait, what’s greatly improved? 1. And most impressive it’s not the engine. It’s the Weight balance, gosh, as if my neighbor jumped off the bars, so much more nimble than before, it’s now much easier to push around, too. 2. And still not the engine. It’s the high-speed highways carving precision of the chassis, firm suspension and more precise line picking than with my 2018 Indian Chieftain. 3. The engine, very smooth, much stronger than ever 117ci. I rode the 114 in 2020, was good then, much better now. Irrelevant to me as a straight tourer. 107, 114, 117 all would serve me well, more is always welcome. That rubber-dance in idle is a gift to the vibrator-people, but it’s just ridiculous rubber-bouncing not really representing an engine Vibration. Overdone. I can ignore that. I prefer rigid mount type engines. 4. The easily readable digital cockpit. Apple Car will help everybody, as until today I have not seen anybody using the internal navigation, it must be so inadequate. My disappointements: -1. The Rear shocks are crap, first try, instant bottoming out. And therefore incompetent if they have to deal with bad tarmac, just so that with my needs I’d have replaced them with Oehlins (solo sport/light but long travel) or Wilbers Nivomat (two-up, luggage) rides. They need to be lifting that horse up in the rear, more lenght, more progression. Clearly what’s biting Harley in the Back is the lack of a modern chassis Architecture for the Grand American Tourers, get it softailed and it’ll fix a lot of issues of the bike right away. -2. Leg-Space/Ergonomics, I’m not big, but am used to the much larger plates and more forward mounts and the Harley felt so much more compact, which it isn’t, but relatively that feel came up -3. Rough and Flimsy Plastics and Bag-Cover mounts, bad cable routings and open thin cables. And less “solid” controls with too many buttons, no functionality requires that many. I have all that stuff, too, but less buttons and great control on my Indian. -4. Small Bags (inside) while looking big from the outside. -5. Waterbottle . Since when is a Harley-Rider a Touring Slave serving Water to the Leader. Be free right with the Air flow. All in all, the platform aged a lot, the 2024 not only superficially improved on many key areas but technically too with all they could bring in, without revolutionizing the RoadGlide Architecture like Harley has done 2017 with the Softail. But that really means, they’re still 8 years behind the competition on the main motorcycle thing aside from an engine - the chassis-suspension! Would I trade? 2023 HD RG? Yes, instantly. 2018-2020 Indian Chieftain? No, but I’d have bought the RG then with my then existing Prio-List. Today, no, I expect more today than what I expected in 2019.

It is up to the brand (Harley Davidson in this case) to support the Android Auto API. It seems like HD does not want to support it going forward after announcing in 2020 that AA is supported. So now they're making excuses that per Google's announcement of discontinuing Android Auto for Phone Screens (different product) it's Google's fault. It's not. HD is to blame.

This is a CVO that is the most expensive bike HD makes. A low percentage of people can afford this. Just like a low percentage of people can afford a Chevy Corvette. But a higher percentage can afford a Silverado. So the bulk of HDs sales are not the CVOs but rather 15-26 thousand dollar bikes. It’s an expensive motorcycle still but we have all kinds of people that buy them. The boomer crowd is already aging out and a low percentage of our sales now. Most of our sales are gen X and millennials. So to answer your question. What’s next after baby boomers. The answer is we sell to the younger generations.
