2024 Day 1: Lake fly fishing for rainbow trout in BC

Ice came off this lake within the last 2 weeks and we knew there is a window here for some great fly fishing. We targeted the shallows initially but changed our tactics to just outside the weedbeds for crusing fish. Cold water and evolving tactics resulted in a successful trip.

I just talked to my friend in Calgary and he said the exact same thing. You could always come and fish in BC for the meanwhile

I drove past this lake, it is right off the highway correct? It looked like you had to go through a gate on someone's property, I thought it was private by the way it looked. Can anyone fish this lake?

You might have looked at Corbett lake which is private. This lake has its own boat launch.
