The problem with the Hornet is its not cheap, and its being marketed to the wrong demographics. It should be positioned for families who want a sporty crossover along with a high performance variant. Stellantis management are way out of touch trying to shoehorn this car towards current Charger and Challenger owners, those people do not want this crossover and they are making it known. I mean why import this thing from Italy in the first place?

For the majority of people AWD is not needed/useless. Make the AWD an option and keep it FWD to keep the cost down. They didn't kill the Charger, it is coming back as an EV/Straight 6 models, two door and four door models, but they are behind in production. Know one wants one with the Alfa reputation for reliability (or lack there of) and financing one is a headache with very few lenders not wanting to put money up for the reliability issues and how quick they depreciate.

Difference is that Dodge doesn't have a good track record with bad design PR where at least Toyota is admitting faults. Their newer (late 2010s) RAM heavy duty transmission valve bodies had major issues with heat-related warping pretty much at the tail end of warranty miles or just over them, that dealers' service depts gaslit the customers into believing it was their fault for using the truck for what it was designed for, then try to sell them a completely new valve body or transmission. My dad had to bring his to an independent shop that specially machined an upgraded version of the part for the valve body so it doesn't have the issue anymore. Saved him thousands on a new transmission and the valve body was fine with the upgraded part installed. Dodge is a nightmare in general. All their cars have had major electrical or mechanical issues that were never fixed in later iterations. I have no reason to assume they're any better now than they were then, let alone willing to sink $40K (without dealer markup) on a compact crossover.
@steak55993 ай бұрын
I drove one at the dealership. I cant imagine paying like 40k for it. The road noise were horrible, and the engine is very loud. I have a 2019 v6 3.2L Cherokee, figure i will give Stellantis product a look. The Hornet cost like $10k more and feels inferior in every way. Sure, it feels more "sporty", but most of the time are are just driving straight on the highway or going to grocery store.

What you should compare it to is something like the unfortunately shortlived gas model of the Kona N.
