2024 Dodge Hornet R/T (Fully Loaded): $50,000 For A Dodge?!?

So I had a 2015 Dodge Dart Rally I just traded in. It got 29 MPG HWY/City combined. I payed $26k new in 2015. They gave me $4k trade in. It was In Mint condition. Dodge even has all the records, and did all maintenance to it. So knowing all that. I wouldn’t give any more than $10k for that Hornet.

For boomers and GenXrs ... "Hornet" brings to mind a '70's, light-weight, economical (cheap - adjusted for inflation, a new AMC Hornet would cost $16K today - built in the US with Union labor), Every-Man AMC platform that gets you from point A to B - maybe with a splash of sportiness. I know this can qualify for the $7500 PHEV rebate if you lease it - but even at $43K ... that ain't no Hornet :) ... I wouldn't mind having one to replace my 2013 Volt - but not at the current sticker price.

That's not fully loaded. It doesn't have the Track Pack or Tech pack. You can also get a $6750 EV credit if you lease. So you can get an R/T for around $40,000 depending on the configuration.

It's slow....they should of thrown AT MINIMUM a 5.7 in it like all the other r/t's. Or gave us a high output engine (more boost, forged internals) that could compete with the 5.7 hemi output with more efficiency. Why tf would I pay 50k for a slow mobile if I can get a certified used AMG or M class bmw around the same price range, both of which would give me atleast 400hp at the crank. The hornet r/t is NOT a flex.....and when people by dodge, they want the flex
