A stunning motorcycle. My only nitpicks would be the two instances of classic Italian form over function. The rear light assembly may look cool but it'll be a royal pain in the neck to clean. The quad pipes slip-on exhaust weighs a ton and the alternative lighter option is priced at £5138!

@sp00ky19699 ай бұрын
The Akrapovic is horribly overpriced but it looks great and sounds even better. When you hear it you want it. Part of the reason is the huge increase in the cost of titanium and then there’s the Ducati tax. I agree about those rear lights as well - they look great but you’d probably want to remove the cover to clean them properly. Not so much of a problem if it’s in your garage except for when the sun is shining. 😂 It’s a great bike though.

@@sp00ky1969 Cheers. It'll be interesting to see what the presumed Diavel V4 S is like. Ditching the V4's aforementioned heavy slip-on for a simpler design that's lighter in weight would be a good move for starters. They likely won't change the rear light assembly because... Italians!

Hi Andy, had the 2016 one brand new, spent 2 years going back to the dealers with electrical faults, then 3 years with no faults until the indicator switch fell off. Over 120mph the air box used to wail like a demon (on the autobahn) and it needed the touring screen. To sum up, a beautiful Italian bike, a bit like a beautiful Italian woman, wild and a bit temperamental. Cost of it in 2016, £13,000 Dark Stealth edition. MPG about 47. The cost now is eye watering, I have heard that the MPG on the V4 isn’t great. Enjoyed the video Andy.

These definitely grew on me more with this generation. I never cared for them in the past because I didn’t understand why you’d take a Diavel over a Monster and when they branded the X Diavel as a muscle cruiser I was a Harley guy at the time and saw it as a naked bike with terrible ergonomics. I think these are really cool, but still a niche bike when the Monster’s and Streetfighter’s are so great and really cover a wide price range. If it was closer to the Streetfighter V2 price I think it would stand out more, but it’s V4S price and that is motorcycle perfection. I’d rather take the perfection when spending that much money

Can’t agree with you on the looks of this bike, if we’re calling this bike a cruiser. The looks do nothing for me, as, for example, do the looks of, say, a Speedmaster and other genuine cruisers. The Diavel is a muscle bike, for sure, and the name and design aesthetic don’t spell “cruiser.” Your own previous commentary on cruisers is that they’re designed for lazy all-day riding, getting out there for a nice ride where it’s about being out there, not how much performance you can wring out of the bike. The Diavel exudes performance as the reason the bike exists, not cruising. Were I drawn to muscle bikes for the sake of muscle bikes, this would be very high on my list, assuming my budget would allow the bike to be there. In that regard, it’s a good-looking bike. Perhaps Ducati’s “power cruiser” moniker isn’t quite right for this bike. I suggest this bike is much more in the street-fighter idiom, rather than the cruiser idiom. If I look at it that way, this bike is a work of art. But as a cruiser, it’s overkill on steroids.

I have an identical one as to the one you have tested. I feel the comfort seat option may be viable option which I will get. Luckily in summer in the South Island of New Zealand, so intend to get a few trips on it. Amongst the bikes I own I consider with the optional touring pack options coming I will be able to take it on the odd tour. I tour mainly on my 2017 BMW R1200R which I find a great touring option as I do prefer naked bikes.

Blimey don’t know what camera settings you had but the scenery was flying past when you opened it up. 😂

It is quite honestly THE best bike I’ve ever ridden (although I haven’t ridden as many as you) but I couldn’t justify the cost! Ive got a garage with a few bikes and still haven’t spent half the money you pay for a v4s
