@@whosthis837 hey, i'm not sure whether ur asking me, but i always recommend reading the A level book, ik so many people that overlook the book and go straight to revision videos, but the book gives so many real life scenarios with real businesses to help u apply ur knowledge. also go through all past paper questions and examiner reports are sooo underrated! wish u the best

For the 12 markers in your video series on exam technique you recommended doing 2 paragraphs (1 PEACH & 1 PEAC) + a conclusion, would you now suggest not doing this and just treating it like a 10 marker with a more detailed conclusion? Thanks

Yeah I would recommend just the one. Don't get me wrong, if you have time for two do two. But I changed it with my students as the timing became too tight. I'll probably rerecord those videos this summer as I also give different conclusion advice this year (as in this video)

Asses the importance of creativity as a characteristic of the entrepreneur Hans Wilsdorf. An Entrepreneur is an individual who takes on risk to hopefully gain a reward. Creativity as a characteristic of the entrepreneur Hans Wilsdorf is important because it helped him come up with the ‘Rolex’ brand name, which was easy to pronounce in every language and easy to remember. This meant that Wilsdorf created a strong competitive advantage against new entrants to the male watch market reacting to the success of Rolex. Therefore, allowing Rolex to charge a premium price and the opportunity to expand into international markets with the same ‘style & authority’ its modern watches offer. However, other characteristics of the entrepreneur Hans Wilsdof, such as his initiative, may be considered more important because ‘Wilsdorf inspired and persuaded the best craftsmen & engineers in Swiss watchmaking to work alongside him’. Therefore, allowing Rolex to further differentiate itself by focusing on quality, rather than trying to produce a cheaper, mass-market product. Overall, I believe that creativity was likely to be most important as an entrepreneurial characteristic when Wilsdorf was developing the Rolex brand because this helped him come up with market leading ideas, such as the ‘Rolex’ name itself, which helped create and maintain a competitive advantage in the male market for modern watches.

@@HarryC4615 I would personally do the same conclusion for a 10 and a 12. One line judgement is probably too short. That question looks good. I think that's level 4. The only thing you could look at is for the however, you could have looked at reasons creativity wouldn't be important for him, as he employed other skilled staff to do that for him (there's a line like that in the case study I believe). But you're on the right lines - if your answers are of that quality in the exam you'll be good!

Love your videos, could you do the same for paper 2 and deep preview for paper 3 please? Due to the lack of teachers as they keep leaving, we haven’t finished content so we haven’t even touched paper 3 nor done any practise. So is it possible you can go over paper 3 as well as the clothing markets please?

Paper 2 will come next week. I do a big Paper 3 video every year so there will be one of those too. I'm aiming for the bank holiday weekend at the start of half term. Those ones take a bit longer to prepare and make.

for highlighting the case studies should i read every question in a section and highlight all of the info for each question first or how would i go about picking out bits in the actual exam without wasting too much time?

Yeah I'd read each question in that section and give each a colour. Then as reading the case study highlight for which question it's relevant. If you practice it on past papers, it doesn't actually take that long

I'm sorry to say, but practice is the best way. Practice reading the extracts quick, practice your structure so it becomes second nature, practice the exam pressure under timed conditions.

For 20 markers u need 4 for knowledge 4 for application 6 for evaluation and 6 for analysis let’s say u got the knowledge right mentioned 4 application marks and evaluated to an extent and your conclusion had mops and long term short term would u get marked on these or the things on the make scheme where it says level 1 answer to level 4?

They're not marked like that. 4 bits of application doesn't mean level 4 application. Focus on demonstrating the skills in your structure, not ticking a checklist

I write my 20 markers like for example defining the question the stating my point then explaining it with application and then it’s impact on the business I write them like this for advantages and disadvantages and then for my conclusion I just use mops and short term and long term

Yeah you would get full marks. But naturally if you make the slightest mistake in your working out you'll get 0/4 if your answer is wrong

No, examiners mark anything that deserves credit. It doesn't have to be from the mark scheme. It does have to be accurate and sensible though.

I feel like it would be a bit more beneficial to go through each key thing on the specification checklist in your topic videos as it would help us or future a level students get more knowlege from these quick videos and would provide more help to students who aim to achieve for higher grades but thank you for your videos

for a 10 and a 12 marker, the structure is unclear to me. Do we write a paragraph about supporting a decision for example and then a paragraph where we criticize the decision and then write a conclusion paragraph? or only one paragraph and then a conclusion paragraph?

Your answer needs to have balance. So if it's e.g. "Assess the impact of being a private limited company on xyz Ltd" you would need to do positive and negative impact. This can be one PEACH paragraph as the However provided the balance. Now, your However should be fairly detailed, and potentially is your second paragraph. But the question isn't whether you have one paragraph or two. The question is whether your answer has a balanced argument

what if there was an 8 marker asking for 2 different paragraphs, we have been doing practice questions and they sometimes ask for 2 different paragraphs with conclusions for each. i cant write that fast so im cooked if it comes up in the real exam.

8 markers are always "Assess two", so you do a PEACH paragraph for each, making the however smaller. If it's two benefits you would do two benefits with two small howevers

If you're doing two with good timing then stick with what you're used to. As long as your two paragraphs are balanced and you write a conclusion, you're good
