I was born and raised under the Blue Oval, and I’m still a proud Ford owner. That said, I wish FORD would offer a stripped down version of the F150. Back to rubber floors, tweed upholstery, a powerful V8 and a LOT LESS of the tech. I need a TRUCK, not a rolling computer lab. And I’d prefer NOT to have to sell a kidney to afford one…

My dad owned plenty of strippo Ford trucks and drove them all to over 200k miles. The beauty of those trucks is that you could use them as trucks and they just ran and ran. Dad would get tired of his old truck and trade in the old one - not because it didn't run - but because he wanted something new. Now you cannot afford a base model and the brand is a joke.

Powerboost dropped fuel tank size from 30 gal to 23 gal and no towing mirrors available on it. For some reason, Ford doesn't want people towing with the Powerboost.

I've had four F150s in the past 15 years and always purchased either the Lariat or Platinum and preferred the 2 wheel drive and 2.7L engines. Now that I can longer get a 2 wheel drive Lariat or Platinum I may be forced to shop elsewhere! I just don't like/need 4 wheel drive here in Florida! I may consider the new Ramcharger 1500 coming in 2025 or possible the new Tacoma hybrid....

They took the torsen locker option off the mid tremor and only make it available on high tremor..so to get a $500 option I have to pay an extra 9k?? Horrible

Wait they seriously removed the V8 option for everything King ranch and higher? Except raptor R). That’s counter intuitive to the mandatory 4WD.. so is it about fuel economy or no? If it were fleet-wide that would be one thing but the fact that they offer 2WD in lower trims and also a V8 in only lower trims really feels like ford is trying to intentionally stifle its higher-end sales. The tremor is officially the highest trim I’d consider purchasing.

It doesn’t matter how much companies update their trucks in a nice day look at all this and that but when you have trucks that are now the minimum of $65,000 and up you can keep your trucks it is absolutely ridiculous how much vehicles have become. Even if you look at a strip down single cab roll up your windows on your own type of truck the truck is still $40,000.

I bought a 2012 suburban 100k miles for $10k. I had to replace the water pump, motor mounts, radiator fans, brakes, and fluids flush. But I can confidently get in it and go wherever I want whenever I want. I tow my 6,000lbs boat. I have loaded it down with pavers, sand, concrete, and gravel. A comparable pick up would have literally been twice the price. Yes half ton pickups can tow over 10,000lbs but I wouldn't recommend doing it on the highway. I've towed about 9k with the ecoboost and it was not pleasant, It felt harmful to the truck

Noticed on engine spec sheet Ford is specifying 5w-30 oil across the board verses 5w-20. Any explanation for this change? My 2017 5.0 recommended 5w-20.

I switched over to 5w-30 on my '17 5.0 xlt after my first oil change at 2k miles. Quieted the engine right down. Edit... Pennzoil Ultra Platinum btw. 👍🏽🇺🇸

I bought a brand-new 2021 hybrid power Boost, in 2021 and I loved it. It was a great truck. I decided to order the 2023 Super Duty. I’ve had the SD since October, and I'm not fond of it at all. I wish I would’ve kept my power boost. Now I’m trying to find a 2023 power boost and trade in my super duty. The only thing that I don’t like about the 2024 Power Boost hybrid is that the torque goes from 570 down to 510, and the horsepower drops also. I don’t understand why Ford would reduce the torque and horsepower in the power boost by half ton for the 2024.

Front bench was taken away from Lariats for 23, and now they can’t be had with the 302A pkg, so now a guy with 4 kids can’t even get a heated seat to help after having to be bent over to scrub the juice box stains out of the cloth seats

My question is (not that I can afFORD one) how reliable is that tailgate and lockable? Adding complexity in the tailgate can cause issues with security and adding additional breaking points, I'm just thinking of all of the vehicle breaking that have been happening lately.

Why not msrp for raptor or raptor r? It’s a f150. Not overcharging customers should be for all people with or without money.Whether you can afford a Raptor R or XL. I would love to know why almost every dealer is marking up the expensive cars more. At the end of the day it’s still a vehicle to sell no need to mark up if you have inventory turning over. 🤷🏽

Fewer options is not a benefit to customers, only dealers. Face it, the dealers screw up the ordering process to the point the factory has to make it easier for the dealers to not screw up.

The powerboost vs the 3.5 Ecoboost has little difference in mpg. But since the powerboost gets better hsp and torque it seems like a "no-brainer." Not sure how the powerboost will "transition" to the F150 Lightning. Although that will depend upon the payload and towing difference. And the "tailgate"? Well it's a nice feature, but for what price? Other than that, I'm really disappointed they don't have an independent rear suspension except in the Lightning. That's one of the main reasons I will be considering a Toyota Tundra for my next pickup. My guess is the price on these pickups will explode once the UAW gets their way. I bought a 2020, and to get a similar pickup today is like 10,000 more. Ridiculous.

Big mistake. Less complexity equals less choices for the customer. They should make different trims and all options available on all trims. That equals more customers. Better quality? It's all computerized on the assembly line. So that BS!

Nice. Do you know what the weight capacity is for the new pro access tailgate when standing on it while folded down? Is it the same or less than it used to be without the side opening inner section, and if less how much so? And since I'm going back and forth between getting a modified Platinum with the hybrid powerboost, the tremor or the raptor, I'll need to figure out at some point if this pro access tailgate is available on all three, it would be great if it is. It looks so promising and useful in so many circumstances. Thanks.

STX is no longer a package. It's a dedicated trim. So if you're ordering an STX - look for the F150 STX trim level. It's basically the exact same thing as the 2023 XL STX but simplified. Smashed into one trim level.

Ford is pricing themselves out of the competition in my opinion and the Ford I currently have will likely be my last. No 5.0 on higher trims, limited trim is gone, you’ve got like 2 or 3 variations to the platinum trim (not sure how that helps with simplicity???? Just makes it more complicated) no 2WD trucks anymore I’ve also heard/read that power deployable steps are no longer an option for lariats? You have to move into a platinum for that which again, TERRIBLE TERRIBLE decision. Ford is losing me

Im a hard working American steel worker...and ford has lost touch with customer! I built out the xlt crw/6.5 max tow i wanted and it cost 63k with almost no unnecessary operations. The payment quoted was over 900 a month for 72 months.🤯 i will be going with a nuch better equipped 10k cheaper Toyota made with my steele not to mention!

They are no longer bulged, they are flat now. They also use brighter colors and it features blue and white instead of blue and chrome. Black appearance package means solid black instead of blue and everything else is white.
