A f150 xlt 4x4 5.0 starts at 59 with 0 options, the lightning flash starts at 67 and has way more standard options so it's not really a bad deal.

@@smiller225 Plus the Lightning makes almost twice the HP and torque of that XLT (0-60 MPH in 4 sec) while costing 5X less to operate around town. And it can power electric tools, or power most of your home during an outage. I like my Lightning better than all my previous V8 pickups.

I have owned a F150 Lightning Flash for coming up to a month, couldn’t be happier. I love the fact that I can charge at home. No more worrying if gas prices are going up this weekend for whatever excuse they can come up with. In Canada the cost savings amounts to ~ $2000 per year to charge the truck vs. fuel the truck.

I think that Ford should have just started with Pro, XLT and that's it. Every truck gets the long-range battery. Keep the options similar between Pro and XLT, with just a few extras for the XLT. Just my opinions.

Thank you for the video. The flashes the model I’m waiting for, but I’m also waiting for the Tesla plug so I don’t have to mess with the adapter or the awkward parking at the superchargers. Does the flash trim level have memory seats for the driver? Also, I listen to your videos with my headphones. Is there a way to turn off that background track that just repeats over and over again it’s louder than your voice and very distracting. Thank you for this channel. I really enjoy the information that you put out.

Great points. I still believe in Ford as a company. I’m buying a Sierra EV, but I’ll always be a Ford guy at heart. Ford missed the mark somewhat with the Lightning - the main problem is its charging speed, and that’s not something they can fix with the Flash. But as Ford holds off to 2027 with its next-gen, I believe that they will catch up in the long run. The F150 is the most popular vehicle in America because Ford has delivered what people want for a price they can afford. The shift to EV technology may have created a challenge for Ford to overcome - one that they aren’t currently the class leader in - but in the long run they will prevail. I bet in 10 years I regret not waiting until 2027 to buy my truck, but at the moment I can’t wait that long.

Why don’t you talk about real range numbers. Many ppl have put their real life experience! You will never get what they claim. Especially if it’s cold, towing, and dogging it. (That seems fair) but cold?? Seriously? You will get 75 if all those conditions are met. Face it. ALL EV ARE NOT BETTER! They have a use. But being a truck or a trip vehicle, is not one of them.
@dvader3263

People who don't want to spend 20 or 25 minutes charging an EV because it takes too long on a road trip are perfectly ok with spending many hours driving a gas vehicle all day long for hundreds of miles, day after day traveling to a destination. Genius. That's a big waste of time. Hop on a jet and get there in a few hours instead and rent a vehicle when you get there. No wonder so many people are poor. No critical thinking skills. Keep investing in the abacus factory and stock when smartphones have been around for the last couple of decades. EVs work for most people. Most people don't tow and for those who do tow, they can continue to buy diesel and gas. Tesla sold 1.8 million EVs at a good profit last year. That's more EVs than Ford sold in trucks.

I went from an 02 Tacoma to a Pro, so keep that in mind. I bought a Pro standard range with the 100k mile warranty for $51k after tax and license. I think you can get them even cheaper now. The range is about the same as my old Tacoma. The pro has more features than I could imagine. If you are going from an old car, you don’t need more than the pro offers. I tow a 12 ft cargo trailer, and can get about 170 miles out of the truck while towing it. It’s not bad if you’re towing a somewhat light trailer. I am very happy with my purchase. I also bought the pro charger and installed it. I can get a zero to full charge in about 8 hours from my house.

Not sure if you like Ram trucks but check out the new Ramcharger. If Ford could make something like that but more affordable it would be a big hit. Not too many people on Earth with homes worry about the 8 billion lithium-ion batteries in smart phones. Then there's all the tablet computers, laptop computers, flashlights, jump starters, portable power packs, home back-up batteries, commercial batteries, cordless tools and over 6 million Tesla vehicles with lithium-ion batteries. The National Fire Protection agency and the NHTSA report far fewer fires in EVs than in combustion engine vehicles for miles traveled. An internal combustion engine vehicle lights on fire somewhere in the USA every 45 seconds. So, at all times in the USA, a gas vehicle is burning. It's a common daily occurrence. Ask a Fire Marshall or any Fire Department personnel.

I currently own a 22 Lightning and that would be a big issue today with the charging infrastructure. There's more on the road today than there were last year at this same time and were going on vacation next week. I'm not looking foreword to the charging experience during this time because most of the us will be on vacation also and guess what.....More ev's trying to charge and basically the same amount of chargers as last year. I do have my Tesla adapter so I have the option to use those, but pretty much every ev manufacturer will have access to those also in the coming months. To top that off, Ford nor apple has routing to these tesla chargers to automatically route you to them, so you have to manually add them. Ford needs to get with the program and update your maps ( I can't use charge assist while driving so that really doesn't help) and also if the charging stats are on the 24's why haven't the previous vehicles been updated with these features? Are ya'll listening Ford? I'm thinking Tesla should have charged all the auto makers that wanted to get on their network a fee to help expand the network at a faster pace since they can do it like no other charging company.

EVs have only 2 problems. 1-Most are just too expensive and hard to justify. (Usually new products try to be cheaper then the competition to at least get some traction and consumer trust) 2-The charging experience is still not good, needing to have a different app for different branded chargers is very annoying. And although I think they are really addressing the amount of chargers available they do still need more. (I had the Jaguar I-Pace for 5 years and just bought the F150 Flash and I love EVs and they're amazing products to own we just need to keep at it, it's not going to be better overnight or even in years but it really is getting better all the time and I hope companies don't give up on it)

REMEMBER that the preconditioning is OPTIONAL. It is free for a number of years, three I think. After that you have to PAY to get fast charging rates with Ford EV

Yes, they're toys ... that make twice the HP and torque of your V8, while costing 5X less to operate in town. My kind of toys! 🙂

Need a cheap base model. E Transit is massively over priced. Where is electric Maverick and ranger? Ford doesn't know what they are doing. Might go out of business with Stelantis.

Please Ford…. get rid of the fat ugly light bar. Make it exactly the same as the F-150 line. Let us order the same interiors and same options in the body. I need a 6.5’ bed. Design a diesel generator module that could be inserted into the fronk…. A high efficiency diesel that slides into the fronk. Could make this a towing machine.

EVs will continue to be made by the big 3. EVs help meet the CAFE rulings. Even if they loss money on EVs they make it up in not having to meet the CAFE on gas cars.

America is such a ridiculous country. Having to preface a video about an electronic vehicle by saying it isn't political in nature. Ofcourse it isn't, it's about an electric truck. But somehow America has turned an alternate energy source for vehicles into a political debate.
