I feel like the stewards were definitely trying to defend Kmag from a race ban, but Perez could have done a little more to avoid it

K-mag's is at fault by just one single key factor: LOGIC. Yeah, in any other circuit, including street circuits you could take the risk and try an overtake through a tight space, but not in Monaco. He should have hit the brakes and be behind Checo, so K-mag could just slipstream behind Checo and try to overtake whenever it was possible. Not to mention, after the crash K-mag never approched Checo to check if he was ok, so even himself knew he HAAS screwed it out. He shouldn't be racing at Canada.

That's 99.9% K-mag's fault. Any other race, maybe you would go for that gap, even then it's still probably like a 50% chance for a crash, but this is Monaco. You do not send it down a small gap during Monaco. I also have no idea how the stewards called that a "racing incident". K-mag should have gotten a penalty, at least 2 penalty points, and a suspension for Canada.

Theres also a case for Checo being on a race line to the right side of the track cause the turn at the end of the straight was to the left. Meaning it's K mags fault for not backing out and Checo has the right to go from left to right on that straight.

The “finishing grid is the same as the starting grid” record would be a lot more fun if there WERE overtakes and pit stops yet somehow at the end everybody ended up in the same position.

I was originally Team Checo but the more I looked at the video, the more I shifted to Team Stewards. I wouldn't have done what K-Mag did but I don't blame him either.

There should not have been that much room for Kmag to go past Checo. It's ONLY Lap 1, why was he risking it; wait a couple laps later. This move from Kmag is not cool and it still annoys me. He should be banned from the Canadian GP by getting 2 More Penalty Points. End of Discussion @ 11:07

Technically Belgium 2021 had all of the drivers finish in the starting order, so its not the first time its happened.

Well yes and no. At Spa 2021, Checo qualified P7, and had no penalty so should have started 7th. But he crashed on the way to the grid, and after they fixed his car he had to "start" from the PL instead. This promoted everyone from 8th down up a position, without moving them up a grid slot (8th started 7th from grid slot 8)

Although i think kmag definitely is more at fault in this incident i still agree with the decision made by the race direction, it feels more like a problem with big and fragile f1 cars and the narrow monaco circuit rather than the ability, or lack there of, from the drivers, and hulkenberg got shot by charles unluckiness

I would say it is more KMags fault, but, Checo could have left more room. KMag has been quite the hazard lately though so…. Let’s go team Checo! Give KMag a penalty 😂

Personally its Checo's fault just because he closed the door on K-Mag when he saw a gap. Even though the gap wouldn't have done K-Mag any good in the first place it's still hard to determine if both drivers are at fault but imo it def goes more towards Checo just because he closed the door and even acknowledged and looked into his mirror seeing K-Mag behind him to the right but still not giving space.
