this is what it is like for me living in Australia. We get up at 3 or 4 in the morning just to watch Qualifying and the races. Rough to wake up at that time. It is also hard to stay awake to midnight just to watch the Race, as that is the most common starting time.

I live in Eastern Asia ( UTC+8. ) I have to wake up REAL EARLY for it, but enough early. The race starts at the reasonable waking times .

i would argue Tennis is a more international sport, with a much wider reach and to people from different walks of life. (don't get me wrong it is still a Elitist sport but less than F1 ). With more people more countries and generally more of everything. ( except the speed high you get from car going Vroom ) (still a F1 fan )

Sorry to break in, but please keep in mind, thousands of people who are not into racing had their vacations pretty much ruined by the massive infrastructure and traffic issues it causes. Hey I'm not complaining. Vegas GP is the only race in North America which works best for Indians. In India the race is at 11:30 am on Sunday. All the races in North America are too late at night. Brazil is also at a reasonable time, but yeah I'm not complaining. Actually they should do this more in North America. It would help their Asian and European fan base a lot.
