PVV - I spoke with an older family member who said that they used to look through fashion magazines to figure out what was “in” and what interested them. I think for me, the reason I like these trend videos is that they are a great way for me to see what the latest in fashion is, and if there is anything that I might want to wear. In a way, it’s just the fashion magazine of our era

Dudes need to get on the engineer boot wave, they feel similar to the trendy women’s buckley slouchy styles but for some reason they feel so classic for menswear. #fffl #pvv fall/autumn is definitely the best season for fits! What I enjoy about trends videos is that they give inspiration to adding to my closet. They make me think about different combinations of clothing I could wear together and yet other ways to express myself through clothing! Sometimes, I get inspired to add a certain piece to the wardrobe that would bring together a more complete outfit for the season. I love a change in seasons because it gives me a chance to refresh in all aspects of my life: outfits included!

Hey Drew - regarding you wanting to get the microphone out of the way: you should look into getting a shotgun microphone, or more specifically a small diaphragm condenser or SDC. They are basically small tube-shaped mics that can be mounted up above your camera frame pointing down at your chest to pick up your voice as it projects upwards. These would be held totally out of frame but should still get nice clear audio out of you. One I know off the top of my head is the Shure SM81, but most SDCs should use XLR and connect to the mixer the same way you have your SM7B connected, so you should really just need a mic, something to hold it, and a stand to mount it. #pvv

#pvv It’s honestly just cool to learn about the different reasons people wear what they wear. Anyone can say that they have their own personal style that they’ve completely put together themselves but the media is literally inescapable nowadays so whether you follow trends or not you’re still influenced in some way, consciously or subconsciously. Even when people think they’re being completely original, they’re often drawing from cultural references, past trends, or even counterculture movements. It’s fascinating how personal style is this mix of individuality and collective influence.

PVV answer: as a person who really loves experimenting with clothes and seeing unusual fashion out on the street I care about trends bc I hope to see stuff in the "whats trending sphere" that is truely "sth new" or "creative" or "outside of the box" ... it can be sth old styled in a new way or a clothing detail that was hyped 50 years ago and that the fashion world forgot about or I do not even know existed. So I always watch these videos bc I hope to be flashed with sth new and exciting to adapt to my wardrobe or just enjoy some creative styling to awe over. Its the promise of a fresh and creative wind in the everyday fashion world that sometimes playes a bit too safe in my opinion.

From my perspective as a viewer, the videos covering trends are highly digestible. I notice a lot of fashion commonalities throughout my fyp and insta feed. The more I'm seeing certain pieces and "cores" the more likely they are to become popular. I watch the trend videos to seek confirmation for my own observations as well. I think people also appreciate the trend videos the same way one enjoys watching the news or recap content. Covering trends helps funnel the busyness of fashion into sections I can quantify and analyze. Trends are often easy to access/obtain, hence why they're popular. I adore so many avenues of fashion but as my life stands it's not sustainable to touch base with every outfit and piece I fall in love with. Trends help find things accessible to me. Those videos serve to bridge that gap of disconnection I sometimes feel.

#PPV - as someone who tries to gauge future trends, it’s dope to see someone I respect in the space give his opinion because of the value it carries. Plus, being in different states, the trend content is used differently too. Audio vs fit problem, you should maybe add a fit check or breakdown at some point in the video. Or use some of the intro segment to showcase the fit indirectly.

PVV - First of all, this is one of the first times i've seen one of your videos, and i must say that i really enjoyed it! Rn i'm trying to find out what i like when it comes to style, and i think a lot of young people are looking for the same as me, as a part of finding out who they really are as a person. I am having a hard time finding what i really like, and thats why i watch trend videos. But something i've found interresting is, that trend videos can be very different and really depend on, who the creator is. You might see a guy who's saying something, and then another guy saying the complete opposite. Also, I am not sure I am doing the lobster clip jacket either. I actually decided this year to get a Schott Perfecto 118 that I will be wearing all fall and winter. I am nervous because this will be the first time I ever do this but that is part of experimenting and growing. Also, as a born and raised New Yorker (you feel me?!) dope video as always! for your mic question someone already mentioned it but another mic would probably suit what you are looking for better. i work with sm7b's a lot and they can be pretty sensitive but they definitely sound better up close where you have it now. a shotgun style mic that can stay out of frame could work or you could try a clip on lav mic. I've used a combination of both before to get something that sounds more natural, but it's always worth experimenting a little.
