Not every great grandmother has a chance to bond with great grandchildren. Likewise not every child has the opportunity to bond with their great grandmother. Precious and blessings. Hugs for Grammy.

That's so true, I never had a grandmother, and when my mother became my children's grandmother I realized what I had missed. They are priceless.

@@terilee7629 Thank you for your response. My children lost all their grandparents very early. My eldest only knew his one grandparent for 3 months before they were all gone. My children all all grown now and well adjusted adults. They lack one example though. They have no example of how to treat an elderly parent. It is an opportunity all of us missed. Their intentions are very good and I am blessed.

I never had the opportunity to know grandparents. Three past before I was born, the last grandparent was ill. Have six great grandchildren from age 3 down to 4 months. I have met 5 of them once and have yet to meet Nixon, the youngest. Kids are busy! ❤ I had the privilege of caring for my stroke victim mother for 2 1/2 years in my home!

I was so fortunate to know my maternal great grandparents and all of my grandparents. My aunts and uncles and cousins were so important to me. Now that I am older, 65 years, there aren't so many of us left. The memories are priceless.

I am 65 and all of us grandkids vied for the stool next to the stove where granny cooked. Looking back it was quite dangerous but no one ever was burnt! The house is long gone now but we have fond memories of being at Grandma's house.

The VEGGIE BOYS (and GIRLS ) are amazing people.......I've watch every episode of what its like to work on a Farm from Winter to Fall to Spring........Not only just back-breaking work, it's the Knowledge that you must possess to make through to the next day......Such as all the kinds of vegetables that are grown and which ones do better than others.........You have to know all the diseases that you can encounter be it plants of animals......Farm machinery has to be repaired to make things easier and also a store to run that is very tiring on the ladies.....You people do it all and I applaud your tireless efforts......Good Blessings to you all.....

Funny story about chickens...my family traveled to Michigan to visit my Great Aunt and Uncle who owned a very large cow farm. They also had chickens and when the sun started to set I was bound and determined to get the chickens to go into their chicken coop, not knowing that they new exactly what time it was and it wasn't quite time for them to bed down for the night, well this had my uncle laughing at me for trying to "force" the chickens in to the hen house!! 😂

At 70hmm I still remember my great grandmother. She lived in a grandmother house in my grandparents garden. She had her own front entrance to the street and came and went with friends when she wanted and had a short walk to the back door of the main house. We always got to visit with her when we went to grandparents house and she usually came for a meal. We all missed her when she was gone but I wouldn't trade those memories for anything.

Love seeing Callie with grandma making cookies. I remember being about 4 and feeling really special to make my grandma breakfast. She had toast and black coffee. I remember making pies with her before she moved to California to live with her daughter. My grandma was born in 1892 and I came along in 1963, so it's been a few years. I have all the family recipes and cookbooks. Grammy should make a cookbook, I'd buy it in a heartbeat!
