Also good to know that Ford starts the prizes pretty high, for example we ordered our car just know: FHEV ACTIVE X with panoramic, tech pack(matrix, hud) and steering and seat heating. The starting prize was 49694,36 Eur, and with the discount we got from our dealer (which was pretty basic) it went down to 38398,45 Eur (Also note that the pricing is in Hungary, but check the discount always with Ford, hefty difference)

Like the wood trim. Ford has done a decent job on this vehicle. 57k Euros is a crazy high price for that car however. The Chinese are going to take over Europe if that is typical; you can get double the car for that price in China. Here in the USA, our Escape top trim is 40k, so Europe is being ripped off for sure.

It is interesting to see that you always measure the boot. I say that because some manufacturers, like Hunday declare a very big boot (600 l for Tucson). But let me tell you that I have measured the size of the boots and I have seen that Tucon is (in cm) 100 width/85 deep/ 45 high (to the top of the seats), and KUGA is 103 width/88 deep/ 44 high /to the top of the seats). With a simplified assumption of been a completely regular volumen, Tucson would have 384 l and Kuga 400l. Surprise! Where is there a difference? Tucson has some quite unuseful space below and Kuga has a spare wheel below. I prefer the spare wheel. So the practical boot to carry suitcases and bags is not essentially different, but the marketing of Hunday is not fair. The same for Kia. In this video I have seen that you measure 100 cm width in the CRV. Prices are crazy, but for example this week in the Ford days in Spain the discount offered reaches 11.000 (I guess i could cut the price even further). Thanky you
@elliex208 күн бұрын
I have always wondered about this too when I see the dimensions of the various boots are quite similar. And for me, I don't really find the space below the boot floor relevant.

I have just yesterday had one of these cars for a 24 hour extended test drive - it was in ‘ST Line X’ trim, not the Active version shown here. My impressions of the car was that it’s a decent car, however, there were things I didn’t like. Although the screen is easy to use with regards to its layout, and I found it pretty responsive, I just hated the fact that things like the heating controls could only be accessed from the screen. Even though the controls are permanently visible, it’s impossible to change these without taking your eyes off the road. I took the car on the motorway and trying to do this at 70mph is just down right dangerous. Unlike Thomas I didn’t think the build quality of the cabin was that great (apart form the seats, it’s certainly not as good as the cabins in some of its Korean, French, and German rivals which all come in at around the same price. However the thing that will probably be the deal breaker for me was the ride. Why Ford feels it is necessary to put sports suspension on a car like this is beyond me. Our roads here in the U.K. are not great, and every bump, pot hole, and bad road surface just sent shudders through the whole cabin, it drove me nuts. The Active trim driven here might be better with the softer suspension, but the ST Line X was just too harsh a ride for me.

If you carry big stuff like 500kg of cement :D or just put two bikes for a trip with your wife (3 bikes would fit inside with 3 persons on board, btw), then such interior is an advantage. The robustness of materials is way higher than Toyota or Skoda. If your life is very "active" then you will like this interior more than i.e Hyundai or Peugeot - they look much fancier/modern but you will pay a lot of attention not to damage it.

A great review. The price range described from $28k to €58k is very interesting because it covers so much of the market. This example (€58k) looks very practical but expensive. For instance a Mini ALL4 would cost less and deliver more. The direct steering feel described is definitely something I like. PHEVs suit us where we live and most of our mileage could be electric only. Ford have produced something which should sell, is practical, and not over the top. I might buy my wife one…. A further thought is this starts to look like a throwback to Henry Ford’s original Model T. You can have any colour you like provided it is black (Henry Ford); you can have any car you like provided it’s a Kuga (today). Not quite fair because there is the Mustang EV, but something close. Presumably this rationalises manufacturing costs.

Very poor design compared to Japanese or German or Korean

It's a typical "Ford" design ;). You can dislike it or appreciate it ;).

Why you Germans so bothered about the door closing sound honestly it’s not need in any of the videos it’s got nothing to do with the car I’ve not seen any other people who review cars that do this only you

People love that I test that. Every day u open and close the door a couple of times and the car gives you an acoustic feedback

It is a testimony to the car build quality

I always appreciate door closing sound, especially when you have passengers that bang the door. And there are many of them. I appreciate Thomas testing it.

Who chose the venue ? Grubby old concrete building covered with graffiti and a weed strewn tarmac ! Doesn't do much for Ford's image.
