2024 Ford Mustang Ecoboost Review / Blasphemy or is the Ecoboost Mustang actually good?

Put it in track mode and the downshifts for you you don't need the paddle shifters 0 to 60 is 4 1/2 seconds it's freaking awesome

It's not the same as having full control of the transmission. How hard is it to include 2 plastic paddle shifters as standard equipment?

Having recently driven over 3000 km (95% on the highway) in a 202x Ecoboost convertible, I agree that the biggest flaw of the car is the lack of paddle shifter to control the gears. The brakes are powerful but a bit grabby, and the body structure can be stiffer. Everything else - power, handling, comfort, ergonomic, and fuel efficiency, is surprisingly good. I say surprisingly because I've never driven a pony car before and I expected it to be a one trick pony (quick in a straight line). The lowly 4 banger Mustang, even a rental car with 100k KM on it, turned out to be a very sporty and civilized grand tourer. Quite impressive!

I have the exact car as in the video but without quad exhausts. It is a quiet cruiser, actually very quiet for a sports on city streets and the highway. The exhaust does drone a a bit from low to midrange acceleration...not a fan of that aspect. Last weekend I drove to Niagara and was pleased with the comfort. I had a 2018 Ecoboost which was also quiet and comfortable. The 2024 interior is better, but not by a wide margin. The 2024 suspension has better bump impact isolation than the 2018. I have a light foot so 9.5 L/100 km in the city and 7.0 L/100 km highway driving.

Its hard to not go fast in this car. Even tho its an ecoboost when you press on the gas this thing moves and sounds pretty good. I wish i had gotten the active exhaust 😢

Shit 4.5 0-60 is as fast as the 2010-2014 coyote 5.0 that did 0-60 in about 4.5 sec thats insane that a turbo 2.3L is doing same time.

engine is prone to LSPI. so they grenade themselves as people in the S550 use to get up to 28psi from 2200rpm and it would window the block. So this happened 90% with the manual drivers and some auto guys got unlucky. But its a very thin block and with the small high spooling turbo ford removed that

I'll be honest. I do feel a bit fatigued after driving my 24 Ecoboost for a prolonged period of time.. I'm not sure if it's the weight of the car or if it's the transmission/engine being sluggish due to not knowing where to send the power (my ecoboost doesnt have the high performance pack for the paddle shifters to control the transmission) I feel the GT is really the best way to go as you'll have a naturally aspirated engine which means no Turbo Lag which the Ecoboost suffers from. I'm still not quite sure about the automatic transmission being much better in the GT however.

The v8 is 250 lbs more than the ecoboost if you think Eco is bad. I drive a NA 6 cylinder BMW 1 series and the car is light, but feels heavy, so I kind of get it, but it's a hoot to drive.
