2024 Ford Mustang Redesign - Ford ALMOST HAD IT!!

I prefer the rear end of the old model, but overall I think the new design is a huge step forwards. I like the outgoing model a lot, but the new one just look so much meaner up front, especially the dark horse model.

The front design is much better than the outgoing generation for sure. My one gripe is I really wish the front fenders were more pronounced like the rears to make it look just that much more aggressive.

It's funny because they made the front more muscle-car like, but the rear more sports car. If it had an s550 front and s650 rear it would work, or vice-versa. I think the rear end looks great, because the mustang finally isn't having an identity crisis and is going full-pony car, and then they make the front end more beefy, which looks great but it's polarizing.

I used to dislike the new rear too until i noticed that the angled lights and boot are taken from the 67 fastback model. It’s a cool detail when you notice it.

But if it's not aesthetically pleasing, does nostalgia really justify it? This was the similar argument for their last Thunderbird. It reminded people of the original one, so that justified the new one's obsessively terrible design for some reason among its few supporters. By this logic, they should remake the Edsel too. Bad design, but that's what they did before...

Do you mean the recessed light? 67 didn't have angled lights (meaning they weren't pointing left or right)

I totally agree with the black element around the rear. Even if you paint it black aftermarket or put a vinyl on that area it’ll make it look better

The S650 redesign successfully went "tough futuristic" without going EV lol. I love how much sharper cut it is, and the widened rear quarter panels are sick.

Wow, always impressed with your design changes. I feel, in many cases these manufacturers should be trying to snag you for their design team. As I watched the launch I had many of the same opinions you mentioned in your video, I thought the rear lights shrunken and small and that the lack of a "double hump" dash on the interior was a disappointment. I think the wheels are very cool but would look better on a smaller sportier car like a fiesta/focus. I like your addition of the historical mustang hockey stick lines as well!

Excellent re-design of the rear. Cleaning up the wing and simplifying the overall approach to make the rear harmonize with the rest of the car. The side treatment was very clean yet distinctive. I like your idea of clean and simple lines that are just as functional as they are attractive. I would love to see your re-design of a 1969 Ford Capri!

I think the redesigned back looks better but looks too similar to the 2015+ models and if it were designed that way there would be a lot of complaints regarding that aspect of it.

Yeah, if you took his redesigned side view graphics (MASSIVE improvement there) and his resigned rear proportions, but left the decklid body colored I think that'd be the perfect sweet spot.

Really dig your redesign. I agree with you I think the angles are off and the stance isn't as aggressive. When I first looked at the car I said to myself, "why do the back wheels look smaller than the front?" And it was that rear end. Def love what you did.

That small taillight tweak makes all the difference. Shoulder/rear fender intersection would have to change to make the hockey stick work for me. RIP those awesome concept sketches.

I really like how they did the new one, I really agree on that clay model rear end though, the factory one is just a little too thin or squished, the clay model rear makes it look more like a proper muscle car and gives that throwback sorta look, maybe they'd do it for a mid run facelift like they have before

I would be curious to see the line of the hood continued back to be continuous to the rear quarters as opposed to having hips. It would have been cleaner and continue with the trend of more muscle-y as opposed to sporty with the hips

I have the opposite opinion. I don't like the front design. It's headlights are small and something about the grille looks off. The rear design on the other hand looks awesome as it is, but your design made it even better. Great video as always.

I wish Ford had gone with the clay model you showed. It would have looked absolutely stunning with that clean front end. I see the same overdesign in the front end of the GT with the new sharper headlights. Those angles don't really work for me. For the first time, I like the Ecoboost much better than the GT. With a performance package that brings a simple trunk spoiler, it will look fantastic.

Ford’s bean counters cut costs and are re-using tooling from S550. They should have adapted the platform to accommodate a Fox-body hatchback design/engineering for more utility, like a Jaguar F-Type.

I actually like the rear the best.The front got a little too digital and lost some of its heritage look although the lower fascia is cleaner. I wish Ford would stop calling this car all-new because it's not. It's obviously a reskin of the old car, nothing wrong with that!

Agreed. The front end looks better, especially the Dark Horse version with the vertical “nostrils” on the grill. But the rear end looks too much like a copy of the Elantra. I also agree that the rear end treatment you picked out is better than the one Ford went with.

Your redesign is far superior, especially the hockey stick element on the door, that area is in desperate need of help. I like your treatment of the rear, basically Ford should have paid you to do this car. I have a 2021 Mach 1, and owned a 2014 GT, aesthetically I liked the 2014 more, you could see the Mustang lineage inside that car.

Yeaaahhh they sold me... I'm gonna buy one of these someday. Maybe in a few years... But this is the best looking modern mustang ive seen and it's got a Coyote and 500hp. What more could you want? Sure there's shit with more power out there and better handling too, but this looks like an amazingly fun car. I want one for sure.

I like your adjustments but one thing i would do is reduce the size of the rear diffuser. Get rid of the top inch...it's grown too far up towards the taillights.

My only beef I have with this car is the hood vent. Why the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution style hood vent? All I see is an Evo III hood vent. I can't unsee it.
