2024 Ford Ranger Raptor review: Just how good is it at off-roading? | Top Gear Philippines

The Ford Ranger played a major role in Ford Philippines’ sales success in 2023, accounting for 13,234 units out of the total tally of 31,320 vehicles sold. And the latest Ford Ranger Raptor, which was launched in the local market in May last year, accounted for quite a few of those Ranger sales.
This beefed-up truck obviously has a big following among local pickup fans, but in its current iteration, just how good is it in off-road conditions? Not solid differential? No thanks. Solid differential is more reliable and robust than independent suspension. Mas comfortable at smooth lang IFS/IRS. Pang porma lang yang raptor, kung mag offroad ka, mag LC76 or tb48 super safari ka nalang, wasak na yang raptor, umaandar payang patrol at lc mo.

Depends on what you use it for, for your 1st car if money isnt a problem go for the 4X4 (4x4 has bigger engine and has more moving parts - so more maintenance needed, also you will have to invest on UVP 1st before anything else) more practical for everyday car is a 4x2 since 99% you will be using it on paved roads. In the end no ones stopping you on getting a 4x4 just be minded on the cost lies ahead :)

Poor Review. You said in the end it lacks the bang for a new car, but drive the competitors first specially the Hilux GRS do they have the bang? Absolutely nothing.. Go ride the GRS, you will come back disappointed. The New Triton is even better in off-road than the GRS hilux because of the Super Select. But generally the Ranger and Ranger Raptor is the best in the 4 cylinder pickup truck segment both Off Road and On Road.

I'm American and I wouldn't buy a Ford if my life depended on it. They simply can't build a single reliable vehicle. We have 3 Toyotas that have never had repairs and the oldest is a 2015 Yaris with 80000 miles.

I have owned a Honda Civic, Nissan Sentra and a Ford Mustang. I purchased all of these cars brand new with less than 50 miles on them at the time of purchase. Both the Honda and the Nissan needed new engines and transmission repairs before I reached 50,000 miles. I have had my Ford Mustang now for 17 years and pushing 200,000 miles. No engine replacement, no transmission problems, just an amazing vehicle that has been amazing. I am looking at purchasing a Ford Ranger this year and couldn’t be happier.

F-150 is the undisputed king of trucks in the US. Still untouched to this day. I rode one and it really is the same as riding a comfortable SUV. Great truck is in Ford's DNA and I respect Hilux, Navara, etc, but the latest Ranger is my number 1 pick.
