Resale value on anything labeled Raptor keep their value just as good if not better than a Tacoma these days. I paid $35k for my 2013 Raptor in 2019 and I can sell it right now for close to $40k. Insane price? ARB steel bumper $2500, rock sliders $1500, onboard 2400W power system for accessories saves you another $1500. You have just sliced $5k+ from the sticker price. You also get 22/24mpg where Ranger gets 16/18mpg. This gives you another $2800 savings on gas over 50k miles... so which one is more expensive now? If you don't need those extras then why would you buy Raptor in first place? It seems most people crying about the price tag have never gone offroad and have no clue what gear is necessary for such adventures. People that build overlanding rigs can see where the value is.

A-trac is actually superior to a front locker due to the fact it’s able to send up to 50% power to one wheel. A front locker can only send 25% to a wheel. The vast majority of in users do not understand how the system works. It’s able to calculate and think extremely fast on its feet. All the end-user has to do is keep the throttle input the same and not letting off ! As soon as you let off you disengage the system. I offroad a lot and have lived in snowy areas for years... 4x4 is incredibly overrated. I swear people think as soon as you're not on bone dry pavement, you need 4x4. I even had one guy tell me he crashed going down a hill because he didn't have his four wheel drive activated. 4x4 has nothing to do with your brakes or tires buddy

Hey Ryan, fun video. Why do you think Toyota only offers the Torsen-based full-time system on the Limited and the Land Cruiser, while Ford offers a full-time system on the Raptor?

With too similar products (albeit suv vs truck here), features is likely the metric to separate and up-sell vehicles You can get the upcoming 4Runner with a rear locker, swaybar disconnect, neat suspension and all on the TRD trims but no full time 4wd, you can get full time 4wd in the limited / platinum trim but no rear locker, swaybar disconnect etc if one wants a 4Runner WITH full time 4wd, swaybar disconnect and all that stuff....you step up to the Land Cruiser, if one wants a Land Cruiser but with a turbo v6 or eKDSS or whatever...you step up to the GX

Its not that it "cuts" power, it just cant keep supplying electric power for long durations. The battery is too small and is only designed to supply short bursts of power. The biggest flaw with this design is the electric powertain. Baja drving, for which it is designed, requires a drivetrain that provides consistent power delivery. Electric assist can only provide short bursts of power. The majority of the time, the base 4 engine alone is the power you will be getting a majority of the time. That is why the ford engine is far superior for baja.

Bro Toyotas look so good but come off inept too. Like the Sequoia, Land Cruiser, 4 Runner, Tundra, ane this have some very glaring downsides and its getting a little exhausting feeling like there is going to be a really stupid downside to a new toyota release. Im scared to see what theyll mess up with the new Rav4...the Crown is worse than the Avalon and the only things with significant improvements as of recently are the Camry Prius, Sienna, Corolla GR, and Supra. Everything else is just coming off mad stupid. Why is this Tacona so expensive and why not a crewmax style body if youre gonna make some stupid seats that arent optional

This is exaclty the video I needed to watch. I'm a bit shocked that he didn't praise the TT-V6 more than the TT-4Cyl, espeically the almost 100 HP difference. I have my Supra, but sadly it won't be next to the TRD Pro. That Ranger Raptor was the overall clear winner imo.

As with all of these trucks, there is really not a bad choice. None of them are perfect and none of them will last forever. Buy the truck you love and can afford and go about your life the way you want. If you're lucky enough to have any of these (Ford, Chevy/GMC/Toyota even Nissan) congrats!

Great comparison review! As a Rivian R1T owner, I absolutely love having a real back seat and great storage underneath. I can actually take my family out, or a few friends, and it won't feel like torture for anyone but myself and one lucky passenger. In this day in age, when so many trucks in the mid-size segment come with four doors, you can bank on me expecting those two additional doors to be usable! In that one regard alone, I would take the Raptor over the Taco, and it being the cheaper option is icing on the cake...if that universe lacked the existence of an R1T, of course.

Great comparison, as a Toyota fan the raptor wins. Ever since the trd pro lineup was introduced years ago, it never was a proper “desert runner”. Because it was just shocks that they upgraded, the ranger raptor has longer control arms which increases wheel travel thats why it performs better. the Tacoma doesn’t have that, it’s only wider because of wheel offset and fenders, trd pros are just shocks and badges.
