Which entry-level luxury sports sedan are you choosing? Would you pick the updated G70 4-cylinder over the competition?

Great job with your review of the 24 G70 with the 2.5 turbo. I found it refreshingly objective and helpful.

Own ( in Canada)) a G70 advanced version 2023 , my 2.0 L is good enough for me. Generally satisfied with it up to now, except fot the GPS, Version and options are different in Canada, we get full maintenance during the warranty period ( 5 years / 100,000 kilometers or 60,000 milles)

Nice! Glad you're liking yours! I don't love most of the onboard nav/gps options. Most are kind of clunky. I usually just stick with Android Auto for google maps. Always up to date and consistent view. I just wish Genesis had wireless connectivity already.

I know they're 2 different cars, but im undecided between this and a 24 GTI. Any advice? Just as a daily driver

There are a lot of factors, like how you drive and what features you like and which trims you're looking at. Assuming you're looking at the auto GTI, my personal preference would probably be the G70. It's way nicer inside, way better/easier to interact with everything inside, and I'd rather have rear-wheel-drive or rear-biased all-wheel-drive than front-wheel-drive. If space is a concern, the GTI being a hatchback is a bit better for that, and if you want a manual then obviously the GTI would win. The G70 costs a bit more of course, but maybe you can get a lightly used one for a similar price to a GTI. Lot to consider, but I think I'd go G70. What are your thoughts/pros/cons between the two?

@GearboxCarReviews probably the only pro of the GTI over g70 is the manual. I do agree G70 has a much nicer interior as the GTI has too much gloss black. Space isn't really an issue as I don't have kids. Hmm, I guess I should spend the weekend looking at both but your reply is making me lean more towards the G70. 🫡

Yeah, in that case it kind of just depends on how big of a deal the manual is. Part of why I have a mk7 GTI is because I wasn't ready to let go of having a manual. If you can drive them both close together, maybe one will jump out at you. Curious to hear which way you end up going!

It was an ancient engine though and plagued with issues. This new 2.5T was long overdue. Kinda strange the Stinger got it first with the 2022 model refresh.
