No, and never was. I had nothing but problems with mine and then having to deal with "service" - you understand why the reputation is so bad. Absolutely disgusting service and no help from Genesis NA. Had to change the differential in less then 10k of normal driving. Wind noise appearing from different panels. And you're dealing with a Hyundai barn level personnel... Don't fall for good press and design, the reality of ownership is completely opposite. This company doesn't deserve a cent of your money, nor a second of your time.

Thank you for taking the time to share your ownership experience my friend. I’m sorry to hear about your negative experience this is another reason why I suggest lease and dumps on these new cars. It’s also important for potential new buyers to make sure they have a proper Genesis dealership with good reviews and not just a Hyundai dealer to go to. Regardless, this is very insightful, if you have a moment, please share with us the model and model year with the specific issues you had. Thank you

Ill add my experience here as a recent convert! I traded up my 2021 hyundai sonata n-line (which, under the covers is no more than the 2.5L genesis engine) for a 2024 G80 sport prestige trim lease. I'm absolutely enamoured with the car, I've never really been fully engaged with the design notes of 2 out of 3 german brands (audi is the only one for me). The dealership experience was fantastic, and the salesmanship was friendly and almost pressureless despite me securing an incredible deal. For the msrp'd sport prestige at ~74k, I got them down to ~50k sale price of the car. Part of this was because the unit I took home was a dealership loaner, so while not technically brand new (had 5k miles on it) they still offered me a lease with ~10k in rebates straight from genesis to move those types of lightly used units. So, top trim for base trim costs, which i consider a huge win!

Great detailed informative review Kevin. I bought my 2016 Hyundai Genesis Luxury 3.8 AWD (was $51000 new) @ 1 1/2 years old from local Hyundai dealer in 2018 for $31000 with 10000 Kilometers ( I'm in Canada). Basically been trouble free for almost 6 years but as I have 5 cars it only just turned 53000 kilometers (32800 miles) today. Love the drive, quietness, power, comfort. Fuel economy on the highway is decent @ 28 MPG on regular .The dealers are sketchy but most other brands today are too. I'm keeping an eye out for a current generation 2021 or newer 3.5 G80 Sport with low KMs. When they get below $50000 I will pull the trigger. Didn't mention that I'm a 31 year veteran Mercedes/Porsche Sales/Sale Manager retired 12 years ago. Now @ 77 I will NEVER buy another European luxury car .Believe me Mercedes dealers are experts @ relieving you of lots of $$ @ service times. I always drove S Class Mercs for 20 years but a G80 gives you 80% of an S Class driving experience for 30% of the $$ if you buy 1-2 years old. I find I can't get past the ugliness of Japanese cars & the "transportation device" personality of Lexus/Toyota .Genesis certainly are not perfect but I love the styling & comfort. I'll stick with them unless reliability goes downhill in the future.

This is the top Genesis that we get here as we don't get the G90 it comes in two flavours the Luxury or Luxury Sport and for the Luxury it's $125,000Au for the V6, so compared to your pricing Kevin, we aren't being screwed that hard on them, if at all.

Ah gotcha G90 is really epic but almost nobody buys the flagship product but no you’re def not being screwed on the Hyundai Kia Genesis vehicles which is good. Good review. Just traded my 2023 G80 2.5 Sport Prestige eight months old with 22k on it…yeh it’s a work car for an Acura 2024 MDX Advance because I need to go back to a three row suv for hauling work stuff occasionally. Really going to miss my G80 best, for me, car I’ve had (and I go through them fast) combination of sport, luxury and mileage 32mpg routinely. It was bullet proof just like my 2022 GV70 3.5 Advanced I traded with 31k on it for the G80. Huge Genesis believer until I test drove the MDX ten minutes before the GV80 and wondering wtf happened to the seats! The comfort of the MDX blew away my heart breaking desire for the GV80 silver and beige that was SO good looking inside and out…but just a brick for seats 😢

Funny... I was planning on moving from G70 to G80 because of the seats. But the G80 is only a tiny bit softer (maybe just enough..?). It IS so nicely designed. Otherwise going to have to test the A6 or 540...

Hey this is a two part question: I have a relative who works for Hyundai corporate which essentially can get about a 14k off MSRP price on Genesis cars (68k car for 54k ish). Would you recommend going G70 or G80? Also with this discount would you suggest leasing or financing to own?
@MeynMotorGroup11 ай бұрын
Honestly between the G70 and G80 that will be up to the individual on what they prefer if they want a more luxury feeling car or a sports sedan as well as the size difference between the two. Personally I think the G80 does its intended job of being a luxury car better than the G70 does at being a sports sedan. But you will be saving a bundle with the G70, a top spec RWD G70 is like $52k and an AWD top spec is around $56k I would double check with the finance department but your relative may already know the answer to this as well but as long as Hyundai financial allows you to buy out the lease at the end, then your relative should absolutely lease then purchase the vehicle at the end of the lease to take advantage of the low interest rate lease and any incentives that come with it.
@theday2learn11 ай бұрын
@@MeynMotorGroup The car would be for me with the 20% discount from my relative on any model I choose. I needed to hear that about the luxury part. I drove both of them a couple days ago and I agree the G80's lux is next level from everything I have owned. I used the leasing calculator you provided in the description and it seems the APR's for Genesis are 6.42 currently on a lease and 5.49 on finance (Genesis Website).
@MeynMotorGroup11 ай бұрын
@@theday2learn oh I see that’s smart and which G80 model year were you looking at is it the 23 or 24? I think 23 might offer better deals and perhaps bigger discount. A lot of this is region specific too, I’m in NC and deals might be worse in other areas. If you can, doing things like one pay leases and if Genesis allows this, putting down refundable MSDs can lower the interest of the lease.
@theday2learn11 ай бұрын
@@MeynMotorGroup I was looking at 24s I think, his discount applies to 2023 and 2024 I figured might as well get 24 since its relative same MSRP currently. Thanks I'll look in to that. The Euro competitors have been served. Long time overdue, they’ve been overpriced, over engineered & too expensive to maintain. When they’re new & tight, they can be butter, but that newness is short lived. So if you’re built with loot, have at it. But the common consumer wants affordable, realistic reliability at a value. I’m an owner of a 2023 Kia Sportage, definitely a different level lower than Genesis, but same family and similarities are shared. Great good 👍🏾 Genesis and Kia.
