Reminds me of Gold Rush in Alaska, most of the people were rushing to find the gold. While some people recognized the potential for business in providing services for the miners.
@thethan38 ай бұрын
Yeah, but in all fairness the gold rush didn't have a side effect of destroying the social order that all of society for the past few thousand years has been based on (i.e. the distribution of labor). Survivor bias can only go so far with irrational people trying to make a quick buck. This kind of activity is both morally and ethically tainting; and highly destructive in the longer term. This type of activity is actively destroying the world, and relying on that hope that someone smart will figure out how to fix what was broken before the dam that broke with the release of AI reaches them with the consequences. So shortsighted, and everyone eventually dies from starvation when economic calculation becomes impossible, but its a slow creeping but inevitable ruin. So much for everyone who wanted to have kids, who would want to bring them into a world with such devastating suffering on the horizon that only the minority of hyper-rational people left today can see. It has always been the hyper-rationalists that got us past impossible ordeals, but what happens when you go up against an impossible to solve problem (unrefuted, there's no solution to the economic calculation problem without a distribution of labor, and people have been working on that for 100 years at least).

I had a very poor attempt at a launch last year, BUT I did get a lot of the administrative stuff out of the way (incorporation, business bank account, subscriptions to the various services etc.). The store is up, and because I didn't have my workflows dialed in for the limited time I dedicated to this, I felt like the digital art side took too long. Through Printify though, I noticed that wrapping paper was very easy to generate. Using your video about repeatable patterns, I used that formula to come up with a bunch of designs. After a few dozen listings, I sold a whopping 7 items last year. This wasn't discouraging, but rather a small proof of concept that with more consistency and some very deliberate effort, I can make this work THIS year.

Great video and thank you for posting. I had an Etsy shop for almost 10 years. Started out designing and making jewelry and did really well, but it was hard work. As I got older, I needed to step away from making jewelry for health reasons, and started acrylic resin painting and selling the originals, which sold really well. But it triggered my chronic nerve pain and regrettably had to discontinue making them. I started watercolor painting, selling the prints, both digital and POD. It was still a lot of work, and frustrating because unless you're doing ads or lots of Social Media, your shop is literally a needle in the big Etsy haystack. Not to be discouraging, but it is a saturated market. It's critical to find a niche that fills a need for certain demographics of shoppers, and market research is a crucial element in this process. I may pick this up again using my old art prints, mixed in with some AI art, if it's a viable option. It's important the print is a high enough resolution so it's not grainy when the buyer prints out a large print, 300dpi is not enough IMO. I would shoot for 500dpi. Thanks again Alek for this concept.

Dude. You could make hundreds of images and don’t sell even one image. And Etsy is charging you for every single listing. So yes, you can totally loose time and money.

So I've watched your tutorial over and over as I take the steps you give for doing this...and am amazed at what can be created. I am seriously motivated to sell online as well once I have all the steps down. So far so good. I've created my own server on discord as you suggested and have been experimenting with all kinds of ideas for prints. My only question at this point is what aspect ratio should the images to be uploaded to Etsy be? Thank you so much for taking the time to make and share this information!

IMHO These businesess shouldn't be supported. Support real artists who have spent years refining their skills, not someone who spent 1hr using AI. :)

I agree, but at least its showing what type of art sells so real artists can make money on Etsy too.

Sometimes you just want a cool picture for couple off bucks and not a hand drawn masterpiece that would cost hundreds of dollars😅
@Ben-et8wh10 ай бұрын
that's for the buyer to decide. the same reason some simple paintings are worth hundreds of thousands of $ or else people buy prints for much cheaper, or opt for "cheaper" artists.

I've been doing digital downloads since July. High quality, popular niche...and not from AI...I'm an actual artist. I've only sold 40 to date. There are LOTS of Etsy shops selling this type of product...LOTS...some only months out. I'd like to know the secret to getting FOUND, as I have gotten minimal visits and views over the 6 months since I opened. My conversion rate was around 3-5%, which by all accounts is decent. So...what gives?

Its over saturated. Every man and his dog can make art now with AI, I couldn't think of a worse way to try and make money
@_schylag_1379 ай бұрын
its pretty difficult to get exposure. Best thing you could do is opening a pinterest with a link to your shop, maybe post your prints from instagram or X with a watermark, and build a community. invest less in the art and more on the customer

I've done a "course" on this one year ago. Do you think it's still a viable model? There are thousands of prints in the same "trendy" topics now generated by AI. And what are the traffic channels for all these successful shops? I'd like to try this year to setup a print store but I'm not sure If there are more people who teaches how to do that than actually those who succeed following such tutorials..😅

I love how clear the process is in this video, but I'm finding through my research that these types of art prints are overly saturated. I fear spending lots of time to create tons of posts only for them to not sell. I'd love to tap into a niche that isn't so. Would love your insights on how to pick a profitable product/niche. That's where I'm stuck. I'd love to use AI to my advantage!

surely some of it will sell. im not gonna get those "thoughts" get in the way and gonna keep working on it. brand new shop tho only for digital
@dogelife790110 ай бұрын
It's basically fine a trend and stick with it. As he said these shops were pumping in 4 months worth of content, it may take even longer to build and it may not take off at all...
@sweetheartfindsit10 ай бұрын
In a sense, you're not wrong. I have 2 etsy shops that are AI based, and worked on them for months, including SEO and Alura optimization. One niche was saturated, one wasnt. Ive made about $2500 in 4 months, so hardly a fortune. It's a good learning process though and it's certainly helped me hone in on whats worth my time and what might not be. Good luck!

Wonderful & to-the-point video 🙌 One question regarding image quality - is the generated image quality enough so that it can be printed on various size formats? E.g. printing on A1 paper size (23-3/8 x 33-1/8 inches or 59.4 x 84.1 cm) or larger? Or do you use image upscalers to enhance it? Thanks in advance!😊

Alex , thank you, I’m going to try it and I’ll be back in a week for the update. I’m not expecting anything crazy but I want to try it out. I think no one actually tries this and people are just asking questions before even starting ( I used to do the same) I read a comment which said wouldn’t everyone be a millionaire if this was true , well ..
@Neutralneuu10 ай бұрын
Okay so just got 2 orders so far .. lol Also I stared a day or two after I posted this comment. And I’m not new to using any software or mid journey or Etsy so maybe it was a bit fast to set everything up but maybe learn and you can save some time here and there. Well I’ll keep on adding listings , maybe will market it and will see where it goes.
