2024 HAS BEEN MY BEST YEAR FLIPPING SPORTS CARDS SINCE...BEST & WORST FLIPS RECAPPED

Guys, the start to 2024 has been my best year buying and selling sports cards since COVID. In this video, I review my Q1 eBay sales dashboard, compare it to 2023, and then go into the spreadsheets showing what flips are going well, what has not gone well, my biggest winners and losers, and whether or not I think this trend will continue for 2024.

The first comment is already indicating that there is confusion in what I am showing. To summarize: 0:00: Intro 0:34: 2023 eBay Sales Data - remember, this is sales across MULTIPLE YEARS of inventory. 2020/2021/2022/2023 1:30: 2024 Q1 Sales Review - again, in Q1, I sold not only cards I graded in 2024, but mainly 2023 Q4 freshly graded cards, 2023 cards, 2022, etc. 3:04: Excel Spreadsheet View 1: This is EVERYTHING I've bought for 2024 only. Obviously the majority of this stuff has not been sold as most of it is sitting in PSA's office 5:56: Excel Spreadsheet View 2: This is EVERYTHING I've gouth in 2024 + Graded (meaning it came back to my possession) + Sold (meaning I have payment in my hands). This is clearly a different cohort of cards compared to any other view. Of the 156 cards that I have bought and graded and already sold of the 800+ cards I've submitted for grading, sales = $19,500 and nearly $7700 is profit. That does not mean that is my only profit. You saw at 1:30 that in Q1 2024, I sold $97,000. $19,500 of that is 2024 card purchases, the rest is non 2024 card purchases. Yes, it is definitely worth my time to continue doing this.

Caitlin Clark WNBA Prizm gonna be the Langford/Wemby for the flip game in Q3 & Q4. If the surface QC is on point like the other Prizm sets this year we are golden. BTW how you doing on Caitlin Topps stuff? Bought a crapton but surfaces awful on most of those sets 😢

Good question, I wouldn't say I have a weekly goal per say but I have thought of it in terms of daily goal. Buying/Grading/Selling 3500 individual cards in a year is a lot of work and time. That's roughly 9-10 cards a day. For the beginning of the year I'd say I'm well on pace to hitting that especially with some of the other cards I haven't logged. If I can keep the same margins and bump up to 5000 in a year, that would be ideal.

@@TylerShort that is a big goal! I’m hoping you have a very profitable year. So, then if you need to acquire 10 cards a day, I assume your bidding strategy would mean you need to win as opposed to trying to get a great deal. Do you generally bid 10-20% over recent comps to assure more inventory?

Thank you sir! I will usually have ~300-400 items on my watchlist at any given time so over the course of 7 days, that' about 50 ending per day on average. I pay full comps for cards I'm confident have a good chance at gemming. There's plenty of good tools out there to help me bid to without me having to manually bid each card (sniping programs - life savers)

I do not haha. I do shows solo, all buying/selling/shipping/YT content/editing. It's all a solo operation

How do you price your BINs?

I'll usually do ~105-120% of comps. If it's a PC card I'll throw out something really high and just fish for a nibbler

Honestly far too much. The time is mainly buying. I would say ~1 hour a day shipping. It’s just living on eBay 2-3 hours a day. But it’s also kinda fun digging for treasure so I enjoy it

Just curious and it is none of my business but since you are a numbers guy, what do you do with your profits? Stock market, crypto, buy gold, etc? Plan to retire early lol

Naw man, that's a great question, buy more cards! A lot of profit went to paying down stupid student loans. $200K plus for undergrad, grad, pharmacy school. Flipping cards let me knock those out (almost) and live pretty comfortably, while keeping inventory levels > $150k-$250k so I'm always turning through cards to make a profit

It wasn't clear what your total profit was from the total $223K sales in ebay? I saw in another section of the video you profited $7.7K in 3 months, so around $30K profit total for the year? Seems like you have to go through a lot of inventory + grading fees to be able to make small profit per month of $1-2K. You have to buy a lot of cards and hope you get the gem rate, a lot of misses as well you have to give away. It's all a big numbers game, and you have to have $12K per month to burn.

I think your looking at the numbers incorrectly. I should probably focus only on showing 1 set of data rather than 3 or 4 cohorts if it's going to cause confusion

PSA has went back to there old grading ways more lenient with psa 10's

folks are just sending their best conditioned cards to psa. If it seems more lenient, its because folks are doing better sending cards out to psa.
