2024 Himalayan 450 - Detailed Observation & its Impact Review
Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is a adventure bike available in 4 variants and 5 colours. The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is powered by 452cc BS6 engine which develops a power of 39.47 bhp and a torque of 40 Nm. With both front and rear disc brakes, Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 comes up with anti-locking braking system. This Himalayan 450 bike weighs 196 kg and has a fuel tank capacity of 17 liters.
The new Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is the successor to the 411cc iteration of the motorcycle. It’s not an updated offering but a brand-new motorcycle that has been developed from the ground up. The new chassis, modern engine, and contemporary features now make it a more worthy contender to the likes of the KTM 390 Adventure and Triumph Scrambler 400 X.
While the bike retains a silhouette similar to the previous model, it looks sleeker and more athletic. Also, the new colour options lend it a fresh visual appeal. The new colour options include Kaza Brown, Slate Himalayan Salt, Slate Poppy Blue, Hanle Black and Kamet White.
Underneath the new bodywork is an all-new 450cc engine. This is the first engine from Royal Enfield with liquid cooling and offers 40bhp and 40Nm. It comes mated to a six-speed gearbox with an assist and slipper clutch as standard. Other features include a colour TFT screen with Google Maps and Bluetooth connectivity. Moreover, it also gets switchable ABS and ride-by-wire throttle.
The Himalayan 450 weighs 196kg; a few kgs lighter than the 411 while the fuel tank capacity is increased to 17 litres. Talking about dimensions, the standard seat height of this ADV is 825mm but it can be decreased and increased significantly. Further, the ground clearance and wheelbase stand at 230mm and 1,510mm, respectively. As for the cycle parts, the Himalayan 450 rides on a 21-17-inch spoke wheel combination that is suspended Showa USD forks and a monoshock while braking is handled by a single disc at both ends.

Air filter position is kept higher than normal level to make the waist of the bike narrower and also to improve sound quality, and thus, the rider gets to hear the intake sound. As per the RE engine and design engineers in the launch events. Has nothing to do with water wading capacity.

No. 1. "Water Wading Capacity" also considered while deciding Air Filter position. Look at older 411, the position is placed in a position that mud or water directly as well as indirectly thrown/sprinkled on the filter (one of the major issues). Please keep that in mind. 2. Another aspect is that, Air Filter divides fuel to both sides which lowers that tank position resulting in the best weight balance.

@PratikThisSide Point number 2 makes sense. Well, I'm not an expert. I just wrote what the RE engineers said during the launch events. They specifically told about the sound quality and the reduction in the waist of the bike. Which made sense to me. No ones gonna ride that deep into the water.

Hi bhai! I've been watching all your videos and shorts on this channel for the Himalayan 450 and they've all been very informative! Wanted your opinion on one issue, I have booked both the Himalayan and the x440 and was wondering which one should I go for? I like both bikes for their own positives but I'm unable to pick one even after getting test rides. My primary use case is city commutes on weekdays and weekend rides with friends. I've already had some bad experience with the Hero/Harley customer service and further given the recency of their tie-up I am a little skeptical about getting the x440.

If your ride is going to be 90% City and 10% Highway/ Long rides then go for X440. Cities will have more service arenas where as Himalayan is serviceable almost in every location considering RE Svc stations

I'm planning to buy a new bike in 400 cc segment. My bike usage will be like daily commute to Office in Chennai city around 30 kms and occassional long drive. My final choices are RE Himalayan 450, Harley Davidson X440, Triumph Scrambler 400x. Which one suits better for me? Any suggestion pls?
@nitishneo2
@nitishneo2 7 ай бұрын
Low end is similar on both however scrambler wins when it comes to weight. For long rides I would give the upper hand to Himalayan easily and the build of Himalayan feels better. Harley is purely for city usage is what I feel. Not for long rides as the engine gets stressed at higher speeds.

Enakum indha doubt irunchu.. everyone told me to go with scrambler 400x .. But for me I personally love Himalayan. So I did a test ride.. the front end is so heavy.. pushing and pulling forward and rear is difficult especially when u r off the bike.. bike la ukandha we can manage.. and also for my height the footpegs were touching my tibia.. So do a test ride..

@@ramchandarumasankar5560 almost same feeling bro. I personally like himalayan especially impressed with it massive look. Had a short test ride in himalayan and not much satisfied after that bcoz of lack in low end torque and seems like engine is bad (vibration, noise, etc.) below 3500rpm. Definitely RE has to fine tune its engine to handle low rpm.
