2024 Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sports - Handlebar controls, screen settings and suspension setup

Traded my 2022 for a 2024 today because of the 19" front wheel.

How do you find the difference? Last Africa Twin I rode was a 2016 during a Ride Red day at the dealership...it had a 21".... but was too long ago for me to recalll the ride.

I just brought my bike identical to yours home tonight. This is very helpful thankyou. Coming from a Goldwing DCT I was disspointed to see that there is no accessory mode so that the whole time i am playing with these switches the headlights are on and draining the battery. Makes me feel like I am on a timer. Ive ordered a battery tender that does Lithium Ion but until it comes I shall limit my time messing around in the numourous setting available for this bike.

I just got the same bike today, but I noticed a significant issue with the handlebar vibrating excessively. I've never experienced this with my previous bike. At first, I thought it might be due to the wind hitting the windshield, but even when I'm sitting still in neutral, the vibration persists to the point where the mirror visibly shakes. Are you experiencing the same issue with your bike? I suspect the dealership might have messed up while installing some OEM parts for me.

No issues like that. Get your dealership to check the handlebars.. I think there are dampener weights in the ends to manage harmonic frequencies... could be something like that. Good Luck.

Apparently it is normal . A lot of Africa have the same problem . It can be the top case. Try without. I just notice the same issue on my honda XADV. But I read comments about it and you souldn t be worry

@@MrAdliariff1I have a 2023 and is close to zero vibration, so is not normal on ATs.

Mine has no vibration through the handlebars at all. Check your tire pressures and go see your dealer. If you are on the stock road tires and 19inch wheels you shouldn't get any serious vibrations. My mirrors are smooth and I traded my 2023 Goldwing DCT so i am used to smooth and silky and the ride home on my Africa Twin Adventure sports ES manual gearbox was vibration free.

only user 1 user 2 modes can changed/ all other 4 are preset

You can adjust the suspension preloads (1 rider, 1 rider + luggage, 2 people, 2 people + luggage) in all riding modes.

Ride my 2023 ATAS ES manual on urban mode 90% of the time

Mines a DCT ES but I use urban and S2 drive mode in the DCT. Tour is good on a long trip but i find the settings are not as "crisp" for round town riding.

do you notice a big difference when adjusting the preload? Curious because I know some systems dont feel like anything changes. Also, I test rode one and set the suspension to hard with passenger and luggage. Do you know if this setting maxes out the preload?

Yes, the preload does make quite a difference. Can get even larger differences between 'soft' and 'hard' by playing with the customization settings. The rider/rider+passenger/with or without luggage preload settings can be used in all modes separate of the soft/medium/hard suspension settings too. I am still playing with the settings to fine tune my user 1 and user 2 settings. I like one to be soft for when riding solo on rough pavement... and one to be stiff when riding with passenger or if I want some spirited riding.

You can even feel the suspension raise and lower as you adjust the preload

@@coolhandchunk I appreciate the response! Does the default rider+passenger+luggage have the preload set to max? I was playing around with the presets on my test ride and I am just curious if there is more preload that can be added beyond the default setting.

@DrGonzo-vq2zi I believe the default is set middle of the road. I was able to stiffen everything up through the menus
