Glad you enjoyed it. pretty good road to ride there. i ride that on various bikes and most days its a pretty quiet road.

Good video. In the hilly area that I live, that would never see 5th. But that's what a gearbox is for. Might get better though. When I first got my Classic 350 it was quite a dog , but soon enough one learns how to use the machine as intended and I've learned how to match the power band and torque to an advantage. 7800 miles and I can say goes like a bugger and will pull up the mountains here no problem. You still have to pay attention but very peppy. No engine mods btw.
@ridewithwarro6 ай бұрын
thanks. i think the classic is a far more easy ride experience than the GB350 especially when hills even very small ones come into play. but the GB350 does have its strength in the first 3 gears, especially 2nd and 3rd. its pretty quick in those.

Sounds like a good little plug along bike. I agree with you Stephen. Perhaps knocking the front cog back just one tooth will give it the pluck it needs up top. A lot of postie riders make the mistake of increasing the front tooth of their bikes by one and find it becomes gutless in the top end of its speed range.
@ridewithwarro6 ай бұрын
that might work. i was the first to run a 13t front sprocket on the ct125 trail and that did wonders for a gutless bike...lol did heaps of mod clips on that bike...in fact actually had two of them. really in no hurry to find out.if im gonna run dirt and track i think i need to buy a suzuki vstrom 250sx its easily the best value bike one can buy at the moment
@ridewithwarro6 ай бұрын
@@stephenhadley2490 you went the wrong way. if you go 13t front you'll find the ct125 will hold gps 80 kph with no issues and run well too. i tested all the ct125 stuff out 3 years back -in my channel history about 30 clips

It would be great to hear your opinion on how it compares with RE Hunter, after it's properly broken in.
@ridewithwarro6 ай бұрын
hunter is more lively to ride than this. but this has better ride position and almost no vibes at 100 kph and easily better suspension. but if that doesnt worry you go hunter as my thoughts would be the hunter is a grown up version of a grom

sounded like it was losing it in top gear warro ,as you have said previously its an overdrive gear . best wishes .
@ridewithwarro6 ай бұрын
there must be a pretty big gap in gear ratios when top is engaged thats for sure. i think they -honda - were trying to strive for fuel economy as i think in india that is an important factor.

Hi Warro Good video. Approx 3,800 ks on her now and handling top better. 100 kph 3,800 4th 4,500 rpm. Think I have solved the pre ignition by Going to an 8 plug. On the day we were just abt 40 degrees and two up on massive gradient. Plug colour is showing good at 37 k/ltr or 87 mpg. Two up with hills and flats. Shall be interested in your review of both bikes again with that cam installed in Ernie. Still unable to find a 13 tooth sprocket for the front will increase revs to about 4,000 to 4,100 at 100 kph in top. All the best Cheers Brian

yeah i asked the dealer about smaller front sprocket and no help there... not so when buying...lol interesting on that plug swap too.keep me posted there. i have not pulled the plug what did you go for in the 8
@brianrobertson6395 ай бұрын
@@ridewithwarro local Honda dealer suggested (workshop foreman and owner, in his 50’s) I try an 8. We used one from Suzuki VStrom 650. Have put question up on Indian Facebook site re 13 tooth sprocket still waiting for answer. I can get a 15 over there and change up on the rear, but will have to lengthen chain. Prob the best option even when oiled you can hear the chain noise from turning around the 14 tooth front sprocket. All in all she is a keeper for me. Another couple of hundred k’s into the cold country tomorrow “Walcha”. Several big climbs to get there (Moonbi’s) Will keep you posted on plug. Ride Safe. Cheers Brian

I didn't know that they made a 350. They came out in the late 80's or early 90's? as a 500. By all accounts, in that guise, they were a genuine 100mph. bike. But we were well into the horsepower wars in the West, at that stage, and they were a sales flop. I've got to say, I love the sound of the 350. It sounds very British. I noticed that it also went a bit "British" when you hit top gear. Still, if you can't have fun on that without sending yourself either broke or into the scenery, there's something wrong with you. Hope you enjoy your purchase.
@ridewithwarro6 ай бұрын
overall it runs pretty good if one uses the gearbox a bit. 5th is more of an overdrive so if a slight incline comes up better to back shift immediaely and it handles that task easy through a pretty good gearbox and clutch set up
@findingneutral6 ай бұрын
Nice. Seems capable of cruising just fine. Up hills aren't a constant so I'd not worry too much there. But uphill with a headwind might be dicey in 5th gear?
@ridewithwarro6 ай бұрын
yeah i think uphill with a headwind 4th/3rd for sure but who knows maybe im still not riding it hard enough but when you hear the exhaust note from 4th to 5th it certainly sounds like it hit a cruising or overdrive gear there

Hey Warro, it certainly doesn’t like being in 5th. All the power is up high in the rev range typical of Hondas. Any sniff of a gradient & it’s back to 4th.
@ridewithwarro6 ай бұрын
that would about sum it up. to get the best results i think its either a flick back to 4th so gear changing is a must do. my thoughts 5th is a straight out economy gear.

Revs drop considerably from fourth to fifth. It perked up my ears.

does a bit too...lol id like to see it perform better in top so a gearing change shortly. another sub told me it works well so plan to try it out
@chrisweeks69736 ай бұрын
Seems pretty good Warro, though it appears to run out of puff quite quickly in top. Still, there's nothing wrong with having to play tunes on the gearbox. Just be grateful it's not a Road-Ranger 'box! 😁
@ridewithwarro6 ай бұрын
yeah 5th gear is indeed an overdrive for sure. it will hold speed on flat ground but a slight incline its back to 4th gear. so gears have to be used on this one. id say on flat ground it would do 130 kph/ ive sat it on 110kph very easy. but my thoughts would be...dont buy this bike and expect it to power its way up hills in top...its not gonna happen....lol

Maybe a roll on test say between 80 and 100 KPH would be a good comparison between the two bikes, simulating passing a vehicle. At the end of the day, if someone wanted a bike to flog, they would get an orange plastic thing.
@ridewithwarro6 ай бұрын
lets say i drop back to say 4th or 3rd gear on the gb350 i't would easily piss all over the classic 350...lol so its hard to win there. a few months back i had a suzuki vstrom 250 sx -sold it. its a better bike overall than both of these units and $1500 cheaper to buy too and will easily beat both of them in fact there that good i might buy another.and this time keep it...lol

I put a tach on mine. Cruising is roughly between 2,000-3,000 rpm, above 2,500 for acceleration. From 4,000 rpm the engine does sound stressed, and beyond 5,000 rpm one wonders if it will survive the stated peak hp speed of 5,500... 🤫🤫

I did enquire about this bike to the local Honda dealership in the UK but was fobbed off! Now, as you both buy and then review bikes that you actually own, how do you find this Honda compares with RE 350 Hunter. They both seem to be on about the same power level but at vastly different prices. Cheers👍
@ridewithwarro6 ай бұрын
hunter is quicker and probably more fun to ride. much like that grom i have but with more power. but and theres always a but...lol the gb350 rides better over bumpy roads and not much vibration in the bike at all. plus a better riding position too. if you have a good back and change the very stiff unforgiving suspension on the hunter to a better ride experience - you'll enjoy life on the hunter
@johnimmins73026 ай бұрын
Thanks for that in depth comparison Warro, on that basis I would most likely go for the Hunter. However, when I trade my Triumph T100 in, I will be looking to buy the Honda CB500x 2022 onwards model which I have been viewing on your earlier videos of the bike. Just a a quick question on another subject, is there a housing shortage in OZ. 👍
@ridewithwarro6 ай бұрын
@@johnimmins7302 if you want the best cb500x -its the last model which doesnt have the jerky throttle or in otherwords better mapping but still has bar vibes. i think now its more of a money shortage...lol im in the country where you'd think a house would cost little but not the case. cheapest ive seen here for sale is $400k and the best being 3.5 million average being 700 to 800k rental houses 500 to 800 per week so a fair bit of variety here
