Exceptionally Well-Equipped
Designed and developed in the U.S., the refreshed 2024 Passport lineup starts with the very well-equipped EX-L, which comes with Honda's 280-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 engine, 9-speed automatic transmission and award-winning torque-vectoring i-VTM4® all-wheel drive. I love that this is a “vanilla” vehicle. A proven power plant matched with a very reliable, easy-to-maintain 9-speed transmission and Honda’s legacy reliability gives me peace of mind ownership. I like that its simplistic layout offers an intuitive, easy-to-navigate cockpit with old-school buttons and controls. I love the smaller infotainment screen. I don’t want an iPad Pro mounted to my dash; I'm driving, not watching movies. I need to operate the vehicle and its features in a way that is not distracting and temperamental like so many touch screens can be. The Passport fits our empty-nester, active lifestyle. It sits up fairly high off the road, has excellent towing capacity, a 165lb roof rack rating and a ton of cargo space. It offers exceptional visibility, is loaded with safety features (Honda Sensing ), and is , in my opinion, value-priced for the segment. Yes, I’m old. I was born in 1967, but with that comes wisdom and experience behind many different steering wheels. We purposely bought a 2024 (Black Edition) to avoid the expected 2025 remodel that may add updated features we don’t want and remove old-fashioned features we do want. This is, in my opinion, a nearly perfect, two-person, hit-the-road with no destination in mind kind of vehicle. Tough. Rugged, Refined and reliable. What more does anyone want or need?

@@winstondeocampo699Hopefully Honda fixes the throttle mapping on new engine. Sometimes it’s lazy and sometimes it’s over sensitive. The 2024 is same way. Shocked they didn’t fix it with having complaints for a year now. Some are having issues with 10 speed.

Bridges the gap between the CR-V and Pilot very nicely. Perfect for those who don't need three rows, but love the silky V6 and big trunk space. For that, I can almost forgive the silly gear selector, and those tiny fiddly climate control buttons.

Kirk, The upgrade in off road capability seen in the Passport and Pilot Trailsport models cannot be equaled by a Toyota CUV competitor. However these Honda models burn nearly twice the gas around town as their Toyota Hybrid counterparts.

It's a good alternative for those who want a Pilot for its torque vectoring and the 6-cylinder naturally aspirated engine, but neither want nor need the third row.

Weird that they "refreshed" this just before it gets updated to the '23-'24 Pilot setup. They *really* needed to refresh the instrument cluster (MID) and infotainment screen! But I guess that comes in '25 (or whenever they say it is coming.) Hmm, I assumed everyone was using full LED headlights... Does the Pilot have full LED headlights? I know they're reflector rather than projector (or the reverse of that) which is a bit of a bummer. Thanks Kirk!

Do you think they will drop the V6 as Toyota has done? If so, I get this then despite the tech. My current vehicle is 7 years old and this screen is way better than mine. I don’t want 20” wheels, love power folding mirrors, remote start, heated seats.

When they redesign this ancient thing, then I’ll be interested! They have the updated engine, updated software and most importantly the updated Light Truck Platform, I’m not sure why they haven’t redesigned it on the new Platform yet.
