I appreciate the review. However, the video title is misleading. I expected that at some point in the video you would have covered the pluses/minuses as compared to the CR-V Hybrid, which given the state of EV, a good critical comparison to a hybrid would be beneficial.

Hybrid the wave of the future all eclectic is a huge mistake just like those that purchased fuel cell cars.Shell closing their fuel cell locations. And it's proven the electric charging stations have a dim future. They use diesel generator to give voltage to the electric. Joke

I wish there was a gas version. Other than the CRV, this is the best looking Honda SUV. But buying a non-Tesla EV right now is a super frustrating experience if you can't charge at home.

This is the only Honda I’ve ever actually considered owning and it’s because it doesn’t look or feel like a Honda to me. This looks and feels like a more upscale vehicle. I love the steering wheel, the switchgear, REAL high quality buttons, and the materials seem to be on par with the Chevrolet Blazer although I think that vehicle is a bit nicer in the interior than the Prologue.

New Prologue is way better than CRV. I recently tested Cadillac Lyriq built on the same platform as this Prologue and new CRV Sport Touring Hybrid. Lyriq is absolutely amazing, totally different feel and refinement level, electric motor beats hybrid easily. GM Ultium platform is amazing, they just need to fix software issues.

Number one in line for one of these in my area. I will need to do some number crunching, but it might be worthwhile to get a Ridgeline for my situation. The rear headroom will be a bit more challenging if you come in at 6' 1" for the Prologue.

Awesome suv to look at, Awesome review again. It would be great to interview Honda/Acura engineers behind this and Acura version, and gm engineers to see how engineering was done, because many reviewers call these gm with Honda finished design, but I do believe it's a lot more than that including Honda has been working on batteries for past 15-20 years, but had hundreds of its engineers from Japan in F1 racing with RedBull Racing and Alpha Tauri racing formally Toro Rosso. Thank you , Car Confections. I enjoy watching your reviews, and was looking forward to a review of this new Honda. It looks like a very nice, upscale version of a CRV. I have been looking at a CRV Sport L, but was curious about Honda's new BEV. It Competes with luxury vehicles (BMW, Lexus, etc.), but at a much better price. Even though the Prologue shares components with the GM Ultium platform, it looks like Honda made it it's own. Now that Honda has an electric vehicle, I may actually consider buying one.

Yes, the Ultium platform is widely considered the best in the EV industry.

The Pros on this Honda Prologue is that is has the nice operating pano-roof with a sunshade, and it has Apple Carplay over the GM versions. And this Elite trim is priced just under the Chevy Blazer EV top RS trim, and about $5K less than the Cadillac Lyric mid-trim. The Cons are a lot: Cheap looking interior (the Cadillac Lyric has a beautiful interior). Under 300-mile range which by today’s standards is low. No “frunk” which again, today that is just a sin. Very little rear under cargo storage (another sin). No ventilated or read heated seats. And finally, as of today, February 8 2024….. The Tesla Model Y Long Range is a full $9,000 less! Currently $48,000 before the $7,500 Fed credit. And finally, does not have the charging network Tesla has. So at this point, why would anyone get this?

I like what you guys do and one of the reasons I bought another MDX is because of your review. As a long time Acura client I am extremely disappointed with the new model. The A pilars are very thick and the side view mirrors very wide, tall and thick too. I lose sight lines with these changes. The dashboard is much higher and even as a 6 footer I cannot see where the care ends and lose visability. The track pad flat out sucks and is not responsive. I lose by blue tooth or android play connections and about half the time using the phone is useless as it converts back to hand held mode on its own or just does not work. The front headlights, which used to be awesome are now pathetically poor. The front seats are very low and exacerbated because of higher dash board. I brought the car back to the dealer and they used a machine to check the lights which was put right opposite the lights. So they testing equipment might have checked the lights but not as if driving in the dark and seeing how the light falls which is very wide but only about bumper high with the brightest lighting to the side not straight ahead. It lights the driveways and lawns of the homes on either side but straight ahead is just plain sucks and does not work well and hardly lights up the road. Given you longevity and reputation I believe you really screwed up on this particular testing and comments. I am so unhappy with this vehicle I am going to try and make them take it back as a safety issue.

Love Honda's, have owned several models over the last few years. For overall price, quality, reliability and resale Honda is my choice. Like the look of this new Prologue and I will admit sleeker looking than my new CRV .... BUT, I have no interest in electric anything.

This isn’t a Honda, it’s a rebadged Chevy Blazer EV that Hondas using as a compliance vehicle while they R&D their own EV technology. The same situation applies to the Acura ZDX which is a rebadged Cadillac Lyric. They actually just dissolved their partner ship with GM back in October of last year (you can guess why) so these two cars will be the only two products as a result of this collaboration.

Don't need fears and new anxieties of Battery Anxiety, or the existence of Batteries burning up after getting wet (particulalry with salt water - checkout the aftermath of IAN in Florida).

IMO the current Honda designs inside and out just appear boring and never been a fan of the tablet attached to the dashboard look. I’ve had 4 Honda’s so I’m not a hater but just disappointed in the direction of their latest designs, not future forward enough for me. Nice to see they’ve finally added the availability of a pano sunroof though. They could take some design lessons from Hyundai-Kia and pare that with Honda reliability. Nice review though guys!

It has an upscale, masculine and boxy stance that screams *gm.* It doesn’t look like any Honda to me and that’s what makes the design appealing. There’s just no reason to get this over a Blazer EV with better interior and exterior styling. Chevrolet’s new infotainment system also blows Honda’s software away which is why the Japanese giant is still relying on Apple CarPlay to make the infotainment experience for their customers.

Funny, I hold the exact opposite view. CarPlay is a key reason this is better, also prefer the design of Prologue inside and out. No thanks to Camaro style air vents, lack of panoramic sunroof in RS trim, and buggy software. A six week stop-sale so far for Blazer EV tells you everything you need to know regarding software quality. Just wow.

@@jimross3 Prologue’s interior looks basic compared to the Blazer. A six week stop sale on a brand new high tech EV doesn’t tell you much of anything about it’s software quality except that they wanted to address something before the vehicle was sold. That actually tells me *gm* is running a more powerful and intricate software system than Honda and required a more thorough look. It’s because, like Ultium *gm’s* fully electric platform, Chevrolet has invested money into their own infotainment experience so that their vehicles no longer need or rely on Apple’s CarPlay for infotainment services. It doesn’t make the Honda better at all.

I just love Honda keeping all the control buttons in their EV and will make the driving experiences so much easier and safer. Yes, I am sure most hard core EV fans will claim that people will get familiar with central touch screen control eventually, for vehicle’s standstill moment, it can be a fun experience be able to play around with the screen and apps. But while you are driving the car, personally I think engaging with quick control buttons while driving makes driving experience far more engaging and satisfying without second thinking. I love touchscreen gadgets but not so much in car. 😅
