Spoiler: The other lead of the first movie tells the premise and solution of the curse and then dies, in the first scene of the movie.

@@errortheworst it's alright bro. I just wanted not to spoil the movie to any potential new viewer. The male lead character in the 2022 horror movie Smile is Joel Guy. He is portrayed by actor Kyle Gallner. In the opening scene of the movie, Joel explains the premise of the curse and its possible solution before dying. In the same opening scene, he dies. It ruined the experience for me and it wasted the character, in my opinion.

Decided to finally watch Smile & Smile 2 last night. Smile 2 I honestly was not expecting to like after watching The Substance on release night but man I found myself really enjoying Smile 2.

First time commenting on your channel. I’m surprised to see that you liked terrifier that much to rate it an S. I wanted part one for 20 minutes and I was done with it. I thought it was doubt and I’m not a fan of human torture. I thought Longlegs was ok. Maika Monroe’s performance did it for me. Without her the movie would’ve been different and not so good. I rarely it a B- because at times it was too boring. I do agree with you on Naomi Scott’s performance on Smile 2. She was so good in it. It was a oner, but it took them about 5 or 6 attempts to do it all one take, which I believe is where the misconception in the video came from

@@guthrielindquist1 A bit like when Derren Brown (mentalist/psychological entertainer) did a TV show about chance where he flipped a coin and got heads like 9 or 10 times in a row, in one shot (no cuts/tricks). And at the end revealed that was from hours and hours of filming so basically it was bound to happen eventually. Great patience! 😄

Can I just ask, with you putting the Substance in S tier what are we looking for in Horror movies in the modern era. For me I didn't find the substance to have any aspects of horror at all and although it is very uniquely written and shot with great colours and camera angles along side a very interesting idea, it didn't leave me satisfied at all. I agree with the ending being farfetched but if The Subtance goes in S tier I think longlegs should go there aswell if we are using the reasons for the substance going there. Longlegs has all the things the substance has but it's actually horror.

Alien romulus is definitely s tier. Use of music/sound just ramps up your heart beat up. Watch it again… Also justice for cuckoo, blink twice and in a violent nature. Definitely A tier / had a better story, acting and overall how it was made than lOnGlEgS. The only thing longlegs had going for it was the cinematography

I do think that there are superficial similarities between Smile 2 and The Substance (both women in the entertainment industry going through horrific things for different reasons), and the crazy endings with multiple witnesses. The Substance, as much as I will remember it for the horror elements, is just how absolutely BEAUTIFUL Margaret Qualley is. She has the best BODY of any human, EVER, and that is a FACT. Terrifier, I just couldn't get past the face at the beginning. Maybe I should try again...given it's free in UK on Tubi. Saw Subby for free on MUBI (7 day trial). BTW Smile 2 better than the original and glad you agree :)

Oh boy do I love Strange Darling. I called it a masterpiece in my review and so far it's my favorite film of 2024. I kept it off the list because I consider it more of a straight up Thriller than a horror film but maybe I'll reconsider and include it in my Part 3 video next month. That movie rules!

I disagree with Mads, that movie was basic and simple. A drug that makes people act like aggressive zombies and get hyper strength from strong bright light sources. The original host stabbing herself were the two tenses scenes. But very simple movie. The coolest scene was the title scene with him driving under the title of the movie

I absolutely love the movie and it elicited an emotional response from me in the 3rd act because a certain reveal was so relatable to my life but I’ve seen too many content creators call it a horror film and its not.
