So far very good, we have only done 400 miles in it but, The frunk is big enough to store both cables and the tyre repair kit in it. The motor has plenty of get up and go in sports mode, less so in eco. At 6 ft 5" I can sit in the back behind my own seat and the boot is plenty big enough. Wireless android and car play is standard and works faultlessly. The endless bingo and bongs can drive you made, but I use one of the ☆ buttons to short cut to the driver assist stuff, then turning off the speed limit warning, driver attention and lane keep assist makes it bing and bong free. Power tail gate is nice, only poor ambient lighting let it down. Oh and we are getting 4.4 miles per kw. Have yet to rapid charge.

This is on our shortlist for our next car. The N line (/S) seem pointless though as you can't get the 17" wheels on those, and I see absolutely no positive aspect of the 19" wheels at all - they waste energy and will cost more for tyres! One more test drive between this, the Niro EV and the Smart #1 and I hope we'll be able to make a decision...!

Charging 20-80% takes 33 mins with a preconditioned battery. Android auto and Apple car play are indeed wireless.

​@@hishamgaccording to the manufacturer's website, you can get 17s on the advance and as a no-cost option on the ultimate trims, but not on either N-line trim. Which is a shame, because you don't want the 19s!

@@Roobubba thanks. It is a shame, because you get more range with the smaller wheels, possibly a smoother ride and I bet the tyres are cheaper to replace. So basically to get the 300+ mile WLTP you have to get either the bottom of the range or the top of the range. At the moment I have a 2020 Hyundai Ioniq Premium and the spec on that is great: heated seats and heated steering wheel (great in winter) and reversing camera. No electric seats though. If I got the Kona electric I would like a similar spec.

Can you tell me the boot space in litres please? I know it's boring but I know this stat in my previous cars and that helps me judge if I can get my mobility aides in it. The previous incarnation was too small without putting down the back seats and they're reserved for the lurcher!

I know hyundai Wants you to use their built in system.. But not having wireless apple carplay is a dealbreaker. I don’t want my phone to charge 24/7 just bc i want my phone displayed.

'Trade Plates'. who except dealer's would talk that crap.

Well in the UK trade plates are not just used by dealers. Valeters use them a lot in cities to transport long term cars as well as any repairer who needs to trail or transport a car from an accident. Testers use them all the time and dealers of course. But to be honest they are mostly used by trailer manufacturer in the UK. The thing is the “frunk” has actually been designed to take spare plates and trade plates there is a specific section for them that’s been measured out. Also I am not sure what kind of dealers you are dealing with in Australia but in the UK they are so heavily regulated it’s very difficult to find a “del boy” dealer that works with a manufacturer these days. They are still dotted around but you really have to look for them. The moment finance is involved so is the FCA. Who will shut down the business very fast as well as the ombudsman if any foul play is even sniffed at.

@EdenMotorGroup OK, what I was trying to say was end users are not interested in a special place for Trade plates. Further surprised Manufacturer designers are thinking of them either. However I will stand corrected, and yes the trade do use trade plates here as well, but nearly all demo's are road registered first.

Quite annoying that all the reviews feature the top of the line models. Generally not necessary considering the extra cost. The basic Advance Kona EV with large battery pack and Comfort Pack is £5000 less than the top spec. Better mileage and comfort on the 17" wheels also. For these reasons I give this and all similar reviews 4 out 10. Also far too much time wasting with unnecessary and boring comments.
