Kias and Hyundais have gotten nice, Genesis vehicles seem great too. I don’t care for Hyundais and Kias prior to 2009. 2010-2017, meh. Those seem ok, but since 2018, they seem great.

Kyle Great Review as always, i use to watch your reviews 10 years ago it was about the time you graduated to be a Doctor. I forgot how in depth your reviews are and helpful. I sell Hyundai past 6 years and we do a Defender package (we call it) blacking out the mirrors and too to really get a nice look with the new Santa Fe. I've owned the Hybrid Calligraphy for two weeks now. You will not find a nicer, more premium vehicle for around $50K out the door. Believe me, I tried. It is more refined and has better tech than most $80K CUV's. Did I mention it's been averaging 35mpg?

I think the styling definitley has a hint of Discovery 3/4 (or LR3/4 as they were called in the US) about it, especially around the front and the sides.

Another car KZbin channel had bought one of these and Hyundai ended up buying it back from them. I believe the transmission is the same or very similar to the one used in the Santa Cruz (trucklett) I have one and no issues though I've had the recall work done and lots of people have chosen the lower trim that offers a torque converter automatic... I wouldn't avoid this because of possible issues but I wouldn't put up with it if it started to fail either - I'd make sure that there would be 3 strikes and it's a lemon = get a new one...

Was thinking the exact same thing.... although people wanted a SUV and the Flex was positioned as a "crossover" - we had two Flexes a 2009 and a 2013 - loved them both.
