To say is not that much higher performance is simple untrue in this N-line. It's the fastest sedan anywhere near this price point. My 2006 V6 Sonata averages around 375 miles per tank and usually between 22-24 MPG per fillup. This N-line has 55 more HP than my V6 and 85 lb-ft of torque more. as well. I am currently waiting for the 2025 N-line Sonata as it adds rear air vents and comes in at a lower MSRP. 19 years of fun in my 2006 ready for this one next year. I have had a great time driving my 2006 and its very reliable over 227K miles now.

Umm caranddriver tested a 2021 Sonata Nline and got the following performance metrics: 60 mph: 5.0 sec 100 mph: 12.1 sec 130 mph: 22.2 sec Rolling start, 5-60 mph: 5.2 sec Top gear, 30-50 mph: 2.8 sec Top gear, 50-70 mph: 3.7 sec 1/4 mile: 13.6 sec @ 106 mph Braking, 70-0 mph: 152 ft Roadholding, 300-ft-dia skidpad: 0.93 g Top speed: 170mph That 1/4 mile trap speed and other numbers are close to a B58 540i Xdrive, KIA Stinger 3.3T AWD, Charger R/T A8, etc. No other midsize sedan comes close. Accord 2.0T is half a second slower in the 1/4 mile and traps 5mph less in caranddrivers test. This car has incredible performance. Its missing an LSD but thats about it. Id argue 35mpg on the highway is great. Most hybrids are only getting 10mpg more on the highway in the real world. Also having owned a few hyundai/kia they seem to get better mpg after putting 5-10K miles for some reason. So it may improve. Generally they get their advertised or better according to fuelly.com!

Charlie, The mpg number was higher than expected but not high enough to shake my unwavering belief that (where available) the Camry LE AWD is the best option in the mainstream sedan market. 🤩

tbh the nvh is already improve a lot and with the hybrid powertrain you got really good mpg number. The only thing keeping me from buying is the plastic interior and lack of leg room for the driver. (Comment from Mazda cx5

36 mpg for this car is pretty nuts, especially considering most hybrid crossovers with way less power than this still very practical sedan does about the same.

just got the 2024 nline sonata trim a few days ago. definitely like the styling, etc. but here are several initial criticisms. 1. WHY oh WHY did hyundai flip the buttons on the steering wheel to make the radio and volume on the right and cruise on control on the left. super uncomfortable. it's always been volume and radio on the left side, why change it. stupid in my opinion. 2. why no spare tire. there's literally an actual empty hole in the trunk for it. i don't feel safe driving around with that tire inflation kit. 3. no rear air vent on the center console in the nline 2024 but apparently will be added on the 2025 meanwhile international versions of the 2024 nline have this feature included, as well some other features which i can't recall at the moment. 4. the drive mode. (there's only normal, sport, and my drive), why is there no eco or smart mode like in all the previous years' versions of the sonata. 5. very odd that you have to move the wiper lever downward for the individual single wipe. in the 20+ years of driving about 10 different cars, this is the first time i've encountered that. why would they change that. it has ALWAYS ALWAYS been to move the lever up for the single wipe. very weird. i think that's about it for now. as i keep driving, i'm sure ill notice more things.
@DaOldSchoolRapLova96Ай бұрын
For '25, they added rear air vents. I totally agree with the radio and cruise controls. In my '18 Sonata 2.0, they are how you both like them. I'm left-handed too and use the radio controls way more than the cruise control buttons on the right. Overall, me test driving it Friday, finalized my decision on my next vehicle.

I've noticed when you make short stops that the speedometer is off 4-5MPH. If the car has been sitting for 30+ min the speed matches my phone GPS.

Charlie, the speedometer shows 4-5 mph faster than whats its actually going, does the odometers miles of 100.3 be off since its calculated from the mph? The 36 mpg might be way off because of that since the car is racking more miles that what it is, the real mpg is actually lower.
@ADDwithJTC3 ай бұрын
That's not how it works and if you watched the whole video, you'd have seen him set the trip odometer and double check the car's estimated mpg with a calculator to see that it's spot on.

you don't need to reset. it resets the mpgs "since last refuel" once you start the engine. lol Also, I own this car and avg 22 mpgs. It's impossible in LA traffic. And when there's no traffic, it's about the smiles per gallon in sport+ (not sport) mode.

Guys, I recommend getting the new kia K5 with a GT1 package, which has heated and cooled seats, AC vents, plus power-adjustable seats. You also get the blind spot assist, turn signals camera view, while this doesn't even have... yes, it is cheaper, but if you spend over 30k, it should have these features 😪🤧

36 mpg on highway is phenomenal for such a big 2.5L 4 cylinder with a turbo and 290 hp in a midsize sedan. Show me another midsize sedan with the same specs showing better results.
