That Jaguar is one of a kind. One of two V8 in its segment if I’m correct 🤔. Used to also be the GLC but Merc killed the V8. BMW X3M twin turbo i6, Porsche Macan GTS V6, GLC hybrid 4 cylinder. It and Levante is a cool exception.

As an FPace owner, I sincerely hope you put the SVR in S and Dynamic modes for a drag race. I'd hate to find out you didn't and just went with it on the porsche with launch control. Listening to the SVR gear shifts, it sounds like you didn't. It doesn't add up. The SVR is a beast and will chew out a Macan any day! From 2025 the SVR will be a collectors dream.

I am super happy with my '23 Macan GTS. The PDK shifts are just so quick when launching it and smooth for everyday driving. I would never trade it in for that SVR. Horsepower is not everything. If you just want to go fast ..... get an EV.

The fact is that the driver who sits the Jaguar doesn't know how to start lunch properly. I myself own a stock Jaguar F-Pace SVR from the 2022 model year. I personally overtook X5M Competition 2020, X6M Competition 2020, X3M LCI Competition, X4M LCI Competition, Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, Mercedes G 63 AMG 2020, Mercedes GLE 63 AMG 2020, Porsche Cayenne GTS 2020 in Drag Racing. Overtaking a Jaguar in Drag Racing Porsche Macan GTS is no problem at all if a competent driver is behind the wheel. So change the driver to a more professional one and then the result will be sad for the Porsche Macan GTS.

Interestingly there are a number of people commenting below that it was rigged etc etc, I must admit I’d expected the Jag to win when looking at Power and Torque but when you look at the claimed acceleration times for the Jag (Jag doesn’t understate) against actually tested (proven) times for the GTS they are very very similar. But of course the GTS is actually about handling not drag racing, I don’t think the Jag would get close on a lap time

At 8:51 you can hear that the Jag driver shifts wrong. He will shift to third gear, but switch the paddle twice. So he shift into third and immediately in fourth gear. And he is not amused about this failure.

having owned and lived wiht both , first a 17gts, then a 20 svr now a 23 gts , they are both incredible , but the Porsche is far superior in all areas expect not being a v8, the porsche ride control fit finish and transmission and reilliability leaves the jaguar in the dust. but the jaguar is siinister sounding and the 20 was tuned louder then the more recent ones.. the growl and wine of the supercharger is intoxicating . also the brakes on Porsche are a step above.. unfortunately both are going to be extinct in the near future so of those that own them relish them for now.. plus the Cobb tunes accessory for the macan awakens it up even more that the 3.3 0-60 if even faster .. both are legendary and trendsetters .. but I will choose to live with he porsche longterm .

Things is this by its nature is dumb, you are trying to compare two machines but putting in a bunch of variables in between that make the test impossible (the meat sacks) you can not have two people who react differently and do different things and expect it to be a comparison on the machines. It should be same mode sport / standard food jammed to the floor no touching the gears and ideally the same person (same response time same weight) if you want a real comparison

The ZF8 is the better transmission, and can hold far more power and torque reliably. The PDK has lag at low speeds and off the line. I've driven one in the new Macan S, and wasn't very impressed. I don't think that clutch dump is very healthy for the gearbox.
