Honestly I think the Mojave is best for those looking for a great look and performance wirhout modding. The suspension makes it feel so smooth on the road as well. Personally I dont really find myself in situations where I need the front locker but thats me.

Mojave also has a thicker frame and frame tabs and larger shock bolts axles are a different part number than the Rubicon could be wrong had a dealer check and he said it is different its also one inch taller than Rubicon different transfer case for higher speed in 4 wheel drive and more I'm forgetting

Correct. The frame actually has extra weld points to make it stronger (AFAIK doesn’t have thicker frame just more welds). It also has cast iron lower arms and/or (forgot which) knuckles to make it stronger. You should be able to add a locker for $2k including labor on the front. Adding manually disconnecting sway bars can be as cheap as $0 because you can grab a wrench and disconnect the sway bar up front at the beginning of an off road session and connect them back at the end. Or there are a few hundred dollar quick connects (still manual).

@is6566 spot on! I do believe I saw a jeep video that showed some extra gussets and plates welded to the Mojave frame too. Wish the Mojave came with a factory front locker. I would of bought it in heart beat if it did

There are some differences to make the Mojave handle jumps better and hold up to hard core bumps.

Aloha Sam. This is an excellent comprehensive analysis for many potential consumers in choosing the best Gladiator to fit their needs. Plus, you provide great depth for each trim model for the best package features to add. I'd go with the Sport or the Sport S. Keep up with the great work 💪 👍 👌 👏 🙌 🙏 ❤😊.

I just purchased a Gladiator Rubicon X. It has very few options because everything is standard. It has better M/T tires over the Standard Rubicon, Steel winch ready bumper standard, Tows 6750 lbs. The only options I could have added was the cigarette lighter and the half doors which I wouldn't want. It has all the tech features, safety features available to the Gladiator.

Fantastic and congratulations on such a great truck. Something to look into though. I don't believe the rubicon can tow that much because of the lift and suspension. I'm pretty sure all rubicons can only tow 4500 poinds

It’s worth mentioning also that a Sport or Sport S is a more cost effective platform for going all out in off road mods. Everything you spend more for in the rubicon/mojave will get changed out when you really build them. Axles, entire suspension, better sway bar disconnects, wheels&tires etc… basically throwing money away if that’s your plan, however stock the rubicon and Mojave’s are awesome. I have a diesel though and you couldn’t get me to trade it for anything that’s currently offered.

@GettingAGrip208 if you are gonna go that far and change axles to 60s etc yep a spot s might be a better option

Informative. Thank you. I am considering a Gladiator as a tow vehicle for our small camper (2,900 lbs) and I would like 1500 lbs of payload. Thank you for clarifying that the max tow package can be ordered on the Sport S. The Sport S with the max tow package would be the sweet spot for me in terms of comparing it to other mid-size trucks. I don’t need hardcore off-road capabilities and I would like a few more amenities than the Sport. Sport S with max tow, hmmm, nice!!! Hoping it has more payload than the more off-road oriented Gladiators.
@Jason-Samko
@Jason-Samko 7 ай бұрын
The sport s with max tow sure is a sweet package. I would imagine the payload is more than the rubi or mojave
@deanmay338
@deanmay338 7 ай бұрын
@@Jason-Samko Yes, I definitely need more payload than available with the Rubicon and Mojave (plus too pricey for me). Looking forward to researching it some more; hoping, the Sport S with the Max Tow Package can compete with the GM Twins, Ranger, and Ridgeline when city comes to payload. I like both the Tacoma and Frontier, but they don’t offer the real world payload that I need.

@@deanmay338I have added air bags to help with payload and towing and it has been a great edition. The biggest worry is braking, and I’ve had no issues when loaded to max capacity and towing max capacity (no Mr insurance company I would never overload it 😅). I do not have the max tow package and if I hadn’t found the deal I did I would’ve held out for it.

Looking at a NightHawk tomorrow. It is similar to the willy’s but gets body colored hard top, no mud tires, but good all season 20” wheels. For the same price, I can add the technology group and Safety group. But you lose the locker and raised suspension. To me, it’s a better deal than willys.

Do the different models have different transfer case options (Selec-trac II vs Rock-trac) and does this impact their 4w drive options?

Jason, As far as I know (and I might be wrong but I checked the official spec sheet of the 2020 Jeep Gladiator trims) ALL Gladiators come with Rubicon HD axles. I see that the Max Tow Package says HD Wide axle. So it might be that the Max Tow widens the axles a bit but all Gladiators have standard Rubicon Dana 44 axles both front and rear. This is different (or at least it was different for Wranglers) because they had much weaker front and rear axles in Sport and Sport S. Unless you got the manual transmission because then you got the Rubicon axle in the rear and weak axle up front. I know for sure because I have a manual Sport Wrangler and I upgraded the front axle to a stronger than Rubicon aftermarket axle but kept the Rubicon rear.
@Jason-Samko
@Jason-Samko 7 ай бұрын
Yep they are all Dana 44s front mand back on gladiators wranglers got the 30s on some trims. But the sport and sport s have the narrower axles compared to max tow, rubi or Mojave and Willys (I think Willys is same too)

It will stop and go if the person in front of you starts moving within 2 seconds. If they don't move you will have to put your foot on the brake as the system will disengage.

Come on man. No locker, rear locker and front and rear locker. Everything else is suspension.. Which is the exact reason why these things are not selling. For instance, how come I never see a comparison between the rear locker willies and the rear locker Mojave?? And the reason you don’t see it because it’s going to be very difficult to justify a $15-$20,000 premium for fox shocks.

I have a 2022 Rubicon gladiator, one rear fox shock leaked at about 4000km, replaced on warranty, so no cost to me, but the dealer told me if it wasn't that just to buy the part would be $1000 Canadian 🇨🇦. The Mojave is remote reservoir shocks, likely more money. So I agree with both you and Exodus jeeps, here on you tube, if you're going to build it up more, then you get a sport S with the options that you like since you're taking the sales out from under it and putting pro rock or Dana 60's anyway. From reading the window stickers all I gather that the X package gets you for $10,000 is power seats with lumbar support. Wow 😲 I think I can live without it.
