That sounds great 🎉. Does removing the resignator cause damage?
@SethmotoX3 ай бұрын
It can over time cause damage as it is messing with your fuel to air ratio hints why it backfires. The bike sounds great without taking the resonator out though as well so honestly I do see a need for taking it out in my opinion.

Hi, I wanted to ask you something, is this exhaust approved for the motorbike (ninja 500)??? because in Italy it is necessary for it to be certified with a suitable sheet. thank you so much you made a great video
@SethmotoX4 ай бұрын
To be completely honest I'm not exactly sure if is or not. If I had to guess probably not as it's just a cheap ebay exhaust but I could be wrong.
@Lobetee3 ай бұрын
It'll definitely not be certified. But for the mechanical revision you can just swap to the original exhaust and you'll pass it. Then use again the non-certified slip-on - the only you risk is a fine if some police catches you

Little tip always use Locktight when putting any bolts on anything that vibrates otherwise one day your muffler will be rolling down the road ask me how I know 😅
@SethmotoXАй бұрын
For sure. It came with locking nuts thankfully. Prolly wouldn't hurt to toss a little loctite on it as well.
@daeraso7 ай бұрын
Were you getting any decel pop/backfire? Looking to throw a slip on mine but don't want to get that decal pop which the huge stock exhaust mostly clears it due to correct back pressure I would assume since in most cases a slip on doesn't need to be tuned for. I'd hope with the silencer it has the same back pressure.
@SethmotoX7 ай бұрын
As long as you leave the resonator in it doesn't pop. If you take it out it definitely messes the back pressure up a lot and pops a ton. Had it on for past 500 miles now and everything has been perfect.

did you just replace the drum? no other settings are needed? isn't it bad for the engine?
@SethmotoX3 ай бұрын
Not sure what you are referring to as the drum but all that was replaced was the muffler. No other settings. And it is only bad if it backfires and pops which it does not unless you take the resonator out and then it does pop a little bit even then not enough to damage anything.

I got the same bike, but KRT abs edition. Great deal I’m grabbing one! What do you think about the throttle? It feels kinda jumpy.. dunno too much about bikes yet to adjust it
@SethmotoX8 ай бұрын
Nice. I wanted the KRT but didn't have one at any local dealers. Bike is defiantly very torquey in the low in gears but is to be expected with smaller bikes like this. Looking to get a quick shift for it soon and kind of see how the bike responses to the change in not having to use the clutch and roll all the way out of the throttle when upshifting and see if changes the jumpiness. 1st gear jumpiness is probably going to be inevitable though unfortunately but we will see.

How long have you been riding? I got a z500 with the same engine and I think it's all in the throttle control
@SethmotoX7 ай бұрын
For myself I've been riding for awhile. The throttle is very torquey in the lower gears for anyone including yourself. That's just the nature of a small engine bike like that. That's all that was being said.
@TrevIV7 ай бұрын
@@birddaddydetta its def in the throttle control, i ride a z900 and my girlfriend has the ninja 500 SE. obviously i know there's a huge difference in torque on the bikes but i haven't noticed anything with it being too torquey while riding hers. it has plenty enough power, i just don't think its too much for anyone. they are great bikes for all skills of riders in my opinion
@birddaddydetta7 ай бұрын
@@TrevIV I totally agree. I think that it's the responsiveness combined with the decent power delivered that can catch one by surprise, but compared to it's bigger counterparts it's nothing extraordinary, just something you got to get used to. should i keep the resonator on or will it run lean
@SethmotoXАй бұрын
It will certainly run lean on you.
@ACommenterOnYouTubeАй бұрын
Muffler alone will not make it run lean.
@SethmotoXАй бұрын
It will in fact run a little lean. Not enough that is going to mess with the bike much but yes you are messing with the back pressure on the bike so you are changing parameters on it.
@ACommenterOnYouTubeАй бұрын
@ #1 it will not #2 its fuel injection and not carbureted #3 you didnt enlarge any pipe #4 that muffler is only ~12 inches long at best, not enough surface area was enlarged to make any difference in the afr .... Now if you changed out the "entire" exhaust system AND enlarged it 1/4 inch then YES your afr will change. A muffler swap out does nothing ...
@SethmotoXАй бұрын
Interesting. I first thought the same as you are saying because you not changing much. Realized the bike popped after putting exhaust on, the fumes where much more, and I also lost mpg. Spoke with tuner and he did inform me that it will run a little lean full system exhaust or slip on. Slip on not as much but will still run lean. Also reason why you should put AIS block of plates on the bike after even putting on just a slip on. He said it doesn't only apply for full system exhaust. But we are certainly entitled to our own opinions. You don't think so cool. Just relaying my info from someone who's prolly dealt with this a million times.
