FOMO, Classy, KG, Brian, and B the installer all stated in previous KZbin video's that the A95L cannot compete in the 2024 competition as it's a 2023 model. I honestly don't care what tv's they let in the contest. But they were ALL wrong. This all just feels like a sales technique. All these OLED TVs are awesome. Buy what u like, not what someL panel of people, who don't even own the A95L, decide which is better. Ratings gave the LG C4 a 9.0 and the Sony A95L a 9.2. Either are excellent and one would be happy with the LG, Samsung or Sony. I just find it weird - hanging your ego on your preference or pick . So many one dimensional rants as well, like one metric is the be all and end all. I just think these people are sad and unhappy - They can't just enjoy their TV. They know their TV will be a "crap" TV in 3 years and won't even rank in top 5 , so they have to spent another 5K to feel good. I would be happy with any of these TVs it given to me, no fomo that another one wasn't given to me. I would be happy with C4 or Q8. Yes I'm in the market next year, I will look for best 83" for not silly price. Because I can afford it with no financial constraints , But if I could t just afford a good 65" in huge sales - I still would be very happy. Also I don't give an F if you are rich or poor, have a rolex or casio . None of that is important. If it makes you happy so be it. Are these Blind Testings? Unless EVERYTHING except the screen is blocked-off/covered-up (only the screen can be seen), then the reviewers will know the Manufacturer they're judging & INEVITABLY, biases & weighted expectations (subconsciously or not), will affect the judging & make their way into the Final Results. I'm familiar w/ & respect the judgement of some of the participants, but a Blind Testing is the only way to have Unimpeachable Results. ****After now hearing the video's comments on Blind Testing (17:34), I understand what the reviewer is saying; BUT I still stand by what I previously commented. By actually doing a Blind Testing you remove the question of it NOT BEING a Blind Test. have an A95L, its very good. But it's not even close to night and day compared to my C2 or even C9 from 2019. All oled have perfect black levels and perfect contrast. The A95L colors pop a little bit more. Non of my family noticed or said a word when I replaced a 55" LG B7 to the A95L. I think this is one of those things that all OLED's are 95% the same, and it's the 5% where one OLED can outperform another oled. BTW, you can check Ratings for yourself, my old LG B7 (from 2017) was capable of 822 nits on a 2% window and 670 nits HDR Real Scene Peak Brightness. Thats bright, not as bright as the A95L can do at 1440 nits on a 2% window. Yes it's noticeable, in a dark room, unless these 2 TVs were right next to each other, you would never complain about the LG B7 picture quality. Am curious how much brightness my B7 has lost since it was new, it has about 6,500 hours and seems bright enough. OLED pixels do degrade over time, so its less bright then it was 7 plus years ago. What im trying to say here is that OLED is amazing, no matter which brand u choose. All this extra brightness is not useful yet as there is almost ZERO content that is mastered over 1,000 nits and will take a decade or so to upgrade all the older films to 4k nits. But who wants to go buy all new media just for more brightness.

i was about to go for the A95L, but decided to buy the G4 because it's an all around better set. 83 inches, more HDMI 2.1 ports with full bandwidth, better gaming features, probably the best dolby vision implementation, sitting flush to the wall, better brightness overall, better specular highlights, crazy detail.... (by the way, i was impressed by the anti-reflecting coating. i didn't expect it to be so good) ofc it's gonna lose out to QD-OLEDs in the color department but LG did a great job this year and it's closer than ever. from everyone else watching movies with me, only my nitpicky eyes could probably tell the difference between this and a QD-OLED if they're not side by side.

The key takeaway along with Brian's video of all the TVs is that they look virtually indistinguishable from each other. The interviews were awesome because they essentially show the detail to which they have to go to look for differences like the sub-pixel or known scenes with issues. As one reviewer pointed out, Samsung has come a long way from being just a TV offender in terms of picture quality to becoming a TV contender. The LG G4's strange tone mapping is probably the biggest difference between them along with gaming clarity. Most people are not going to watch a TV in its calibrated mode or have it calibrated and will be using the default mode. Scene selection and color temp (by extension) is probably the biggest deciding factor in terms of picture quality.

Also, in terms of getting close to the reference monitor, it is said that the A95L is the best at doing that, but the other two are competitively close as well. That depends but most people would say yes because it preserves color saturation in high brightness. But there are concerns about burn in. I don’t have those concerns but it’s important to mention if you’re someone that’s paranoid about that sort of thing. MLA does allow WOLED to get close to and even surpass QDOLED in brightness so the margin is much smaller now between the two. But it’s the colors of the QD that can’t be beat. That said, I don’t think you’d really notice unless you had the two side by side

@Tidbitkid
@Tidbitkid 28 күн бұрын
LG G4 is the brightest of the OLEDs shown and thus perfect the LUT would greatly be significant in the accuracy department with the brightest panel available. Also because it's not a QDOLED it doesn't have the issue of viewing angle that the current gens of QDOLED panels have with colour tint issue. Panasonic's flagship OLED is to be even brighter and out of the box more accurate then even Sony so should be a choice but is not readily available unless imported in North America. Most likely in the UK shootout Panasonic will win in the OLED category. The human eye can disguish brightness and darkness much more easily then points in colour gamut/volume like mentioned it's possible to make a panel that has availability in settings more accurate do a pretty impressive accuracy but you can't boost a panels peak brightness nor its subpixel layout. Plus most people know by now LG Chem and LG Display have over a decade of production R&D in consumer OLEDs compared to a panel provided from Samsung Display even Samsung is supplementing their line up with LG manufactured displays as they cannot compete with the size offerings each year that LG can manufacture.

Any of those TVs are great - each suits slightly less or more different use. There is no perfect TV despite what shootouts like this might suggest. Worth to mention dolby vision is not tested here so for Sony or LG owners - taking into account DV is pretty much everywhere - those results are much less applicable - LG would have an advantage here over Sony and Samsung thanks to best in industry implementation. Lastly price is one of subjective differences and majority will make decision based on that.

The most interesting part about this shootout was the interview with D-Nice where he admitted that he prefers SDR over HDR and personally chooses to watch the SDR version of content rather than HDR in his own home.. Something I have been saying for years and years and years! The only difference being whenever I bring it up on forums people think I'm crazy. As it turns out I'm not alone 😂. HDR mostly sucks or at least is vastly inferior to its SDR counterpart. Maybe things will improve in the future as colorists and creators become more experienced working with the format... Kind of feel like we should be there at this point though-unfortunately we're not. For anyone who has a hard time believing this, if you have a device that allows it, simply compare virtually any of the same content in both SDR versus HDR by disabling HDR on your device. You'll become a believer really fast.

However, personally I want to have a fun looking tv that pops and yes does not look real and set up the way I want (I also eq my music and like soe. Now I am banned 😉). I perfer to watch movies etc, not analysing color accuracy (slight) blooming and whether the black bars are pure black. Tv's today are very close in performance so don't over analyze tv's, buy what appeals to you and enjoy it the way you like (you don't buy a car and race it all the time because a expert tests a car that way). I own all panel types, plasma, oled, qdoled and mini led. All have their strengths and weaknesses, I agree that oled is the best panel tech but it doesn't yet compete in the affordable 98"+ sizes. Just get what you like, set it up the way you like and don't stress on what the pros say, I can guarantee you that the art you like is definitely different that what an art connoisseur likes.

Sony is still doing poorly in the gaming sphere - i'd expect higher gains to be had there.

Just a random question for other viewers. Do u think any consumer will buy a tv based on this shootout and not his or her personal preference? If not then is there a point to all of this? Just sayin.

Most people don’t know which TVs fit their preferences aka I like to watch in a bright room but love streaming SDR movies and sports, then it might be the S95D

@stopthefomo true but that's not my question. I want to know that apart from academic interest will any consumer benefit from these shootouts? Like will they actually buy a tv based on the winner of this shootout?

@@avijitjha1614I’m in the market now, n this info is definitely helping informing my choice on which way to go-the event n guest went into accuracy n daily use scenarios; and helps “calibrate” haaa, my expectations when I get my tv. So yup at least for me supr helpful. Although I’m left a bit unclear on the 2nd 3rd generation screen topic..

Nope. I'm gonna buy a 75 inch Hisense u8n in November. If it dies in 2 years I'll replace it and still be money ahead of the "Winner".
