This is what I like about Toy Shiz, not only is he doing a review, but he is also giving a back story of the characters in the comics. This is something that other reviewers such as Shartimus don't do or can't do because they don't read the comic book.

Ugh. McFarlane's handling of this character is abysmal. I never saw the original Walmart exclusive despite hitting the store daily (swore I'd never do that again). Now the blue version is a chase and the red one is sold out everywhere. So much for the average collector getting a hold of this. Gratz to those who managed to get one or both. Fingers crossed I happen across at least a red one in the store.

My Walmart just refuses to stock anything, we don't get nothing and it's a "super" Walmart, I hate Walmart exclusives cause we never get them , somethings gonna have to give

The one I was really hoping for is the Knightquest version with a black cape and red/gold body suit like the Kenner toy. Maybe that repaint will come out later on, but you're right about these looking super cool and people wanting the blue one. It's definitely more iconic and works really well colour wise.

@@luke7834 It's in the answer. Toy companies have been doing it forever and if it weren't lucrative they wouldn't continue doing it. Some are upset, because they fear that they may not get the version they want. It's really not that big of a deal, but I get the frustration

@@luke7834 are you new to collecting or something? You have people purchasing entire cases of figures or ordering multiples of the same figure to get a chase figure. Stop being obtuse. This isn't new when it comes to collecting and if it weren't lucrative they wouldn't continue to do it. Common sense

Nerd moment: From the moment Jean Pail took over as Batman, he subconsciously started adding Azrael elements to the custome. In my head, the Knight's End suit was just his red armor painted blue. Side note: A lot of us are DYING for a Reign of the Supermen version of Cyborg Superman. I'm now 100% positive that Todd will release a red and black version before giving us the version that we really want.

Pretty much like buying Funk POPs to get the chase...what they expect people to do is buy by bulk in hopes to get a chase. Generally speaking, if you purchase a whole case then there is a good chance you'll get the chase variant. It is unconventional and annoying for us collectors but it is what is. I just don't bother lol

I can't even find normal released McFarlane figures. I actually gave up looking because the toy sections at my local stores are almost always empty or there are just a few crap figures that nobody wants like the Aquaman or Flash movie stuff. I'd love the blue Azrael but I'm not paying reseller prices and I'm positive that's the only way I'll ever be able to buy it.

Worse case scenario: I buy some blue spray paintand paint the damn thing myself. It is going it be hard to find the red one let alone the blue platnuim varient. A good idea is also getting that future state Batman and painting his head for a more traditional knightfall appearance.

I'm not the hugest fan of the way McFarlane does the Platinum chase variants, but I will say this much: those variants are a LOT easier to come by than chase variants from other lines/companies.

Great review, dude! Love the story breakdown and showcase of the characters McFarlane Toys has released! I really want that blue 90's Azbats from Knightfall still! The upgraded armor is pretty rad, but my nostalgia tic is aching for the classic look! Cheers! 💙 ☕️ 💙

I don't get the " Bane too tall" when he's been able to become giant in the comics and games. I also don't get the" maybe we can get a redo" on those characters if that would never happen. Knightfall Catwoman is worth like 50+$ now and she looks badass.

Bane wasn’t that big in the 90s. Scaling issues with Mcfarlane. And bulgy Catwomen because of the odd articulation scheme.

@@ToyShiz Would've loved to get it the Azbat suit since the figure sold out fast and became extremely hard to find plus the Knight end figures are just re-use of it so can see them re-releasing it just maybe add the fist as well

This is infuriating!!! If the first Azrael was this shade of blue, I'd be happy. And I had to fight like hell to get the red version (if you call ordering from GameStop "fighting like hell") I'd skip both of these if Batman #500 was comic book accurate. Why do you do this to us, Todd!?

They have to build a fan base to get these companies to send figures out their way. It's not that simple plus like Toyshiz said it's thanks to the support of fans and people who watch his content he can do these reviews and get first looks at figures.
