The 2024 KTM 450SXF is officially here and it's the first new dirt bike to come down the testing pipeline for the new model season. The KTM 450SXF was all-new for 2023, and the 2024 season was a quiet one for updates, with only the suspension, graphics and $11,099 retail price being different. In this video, MXA test rider Josh Mosiman explains the pros and cons of the new bike and shares what we've learned on this bike so far, after spending over a year riding this new platform.

Just bought a 2013 450 xsf ,I have some videos on my channel and had some issues at the start but was a dead battery, has a recluse clutch put in too . I used to ride a 180 2 stroke Yamaha RT 180 but damn I love this thing. Can't wait to get good at it.

Never once had an issue with spokes coming loose or my air pressure fluctuating… torquing spokes when you first purchase the bike and after the first two rides and they don’t move again. Sprockets and rotors should all be torqued once and that’s it they don’t come loose. It’s basic riding set up before readying up a bike for racing a season shit some people do it before every race.

@@stevemx2778 💯 these guys are the guys that never check a bolt and cry about when it comes loose. The same guys that cry about a loss in power when their air filter is 2in caked in dust and grime. Same guys who call a bike trash after smashing 50 hours pinned but never checked the valves once… typical.

I've read these comments. I owned a KTM 525 and modified the suspension, carburetor, gearing, and guards for protection. It's what you do to make the bike yours. I would do these mods to any bike I buy, but choose KTM purely for the top quality.

Don’t like the purple Don’t like the 12k price Don’t like the heavier weight Don’t like taller seat height Don’t like the stiffer frame Don’t like the overall performance they have been having in supercross or outdoors however can’t entirely blame the bike but it does seem to be the obvious factor. 21-22 was hands down the best for ktm.

I failed to explain that in the video, but it locked up because I got a rock in the chain. I laid it over on the left and the chain drug perfectly in the dirt.

1+1=2....air is unstable..spent all season chasing the airforks at he track instead of practicing or racing. sold it 6 months later for 6k loss. change the frame all you want...air is still unstable...and pay 2.5 k more to gut the airforks. no way... faster on my 18 250 sx with the older generation airfork in the 50A class no choice... no one wants to put 10 hours on a bike before its comfortable. that's 7-10 weeks if only ride on a weekend. for me if you buy a brand new bike, you buy it because its fresh and should be awesome off the show room floor. maybe for pros who are on the bike daily almost, but for casual riders, who wants too pay 12grand for a bike to be comfortable after months. just buy a yam or a kawi and good to go.

@@TeoZMuff313 well my 2019 yz 450 with 287 hours had no issues so far, just regular services and replacing fluids. Spokes still tight, motor rebuild at 200 hours with everything in spec. If you buy Yamaha, you jump on and ride, pointless to spent dough on a bike that is already expensive. Ktm should sort out these issues on their new bikes. It is 2023...

Oh so they didn't change the RIDICULOUSLY stiff chassis that even the supercross pros say is too much. Nor did they ch age the needle bearing that were walking themselves out, AND THEY STILL HAVE A 10HR BREAK IN TIME!!! Daaaamn KTM is still just as big of junk as it was in 2023, and dating all the way back to 2002 ☠️😂😂💩
