honestly i wanted to say how shit the skins were this year but you only really see it towards the end of the year. you can tell love was put into Asol's skin, yone's skin totally fits the high noon (modern high noon) demon cowboy vibe, and varus/veigar fit their respective themes so well. i'm not a fan of empyrean skinline, but the work put into varus is amazing, especially the SFX. it sucks to see the gacha system getting more and more use as the year went on.

The differences between individual skins are far too great. Not all skins count towards Legendary status. The last skins in particular are “cashgrabers”. What a pity! The themes were all great!

Easy answer to that: Riot is a corp, corps primary motive is making money. In the eyes of ceos and board members making a new more marketable champion with new and marketable skins is much more appealing than going through the hoops of remaking an old one that most people already have skins for most likely, cause they need to redesign the kit, the look, the lore, hire a new voice actor or bring the old one back for more lines and so on. I hate that they don't update some of their more lost characters, I mean look at shaco, bro is literally not even part of the coherent lore anymore, but sadly riot, BEING ONE OF THE RICHEST VIDEOGAME COMPANIES AND SUPPORTED BY FUCKING TENCENT apparently desperately needs more money with less work, so they make these half baked skins and the 250 rip-offs instead

Also ain't gonna lie, in comparison to empyrean, premordia is not my cup of tea. Varus on the other hand isn't amazing but doesn't disappoint, it's good enough for the skin line. Vi is here only because of E and R. Otherwise doesn't even deserve a mention. If we take in consideration that's it's a legendary sucks almost as much as the sylas skin.

Why do people not like the lee sin skin, the emotes are good (especially the sky diving) Also there is some aspects of dragon thematics in every one of his abilities (animated vfx of scales at the base of q when it hits etc.) he has a new exaggerated auto animation, his e looks amazing, the ultimate has really cool character animation and looks like he has a new walk cycle? aside from the quality of the skin itself, it doesn't really provide a compelling fantasy beyond 'dragon lee sin' on top of this being his second dragon-themed legendary skin. his asu also brought all of his other models up to a much higher standard which doesnt make this one feel as special or worth it anymore, especially when you have skins like knockout, god fist and pool party which are animated just as well for the same price or cheaper and dont encounter the first issue i brought up. it's less that it's a bad skin and more that it's not anything exceptional compared to the rest of his catalogue
