It's not a SUV, it is a crossover. After 5 years of owning a Lexus UX 250h AWD F Sport we had 0 (zero) issues and no recalls. Excellent handling performance, amazing mpg, comfort, style etc. We are very satisfied with the compact crossovers segment champion (in reliability and a very low TCO for such a luxury car) 😊

I love this car! I hear they’re upgrading the powertrain and now it’s the UX 300h, to match the engine update of the new Prius.

I have a 2017 NX200t F-Sport with low mileage. Just replaced the tires and battery last year. I’ve heard that the newer versions are nicer, but other than the limited cargo space, I have no complaints. The driver’s seat is the most comfortable I’ve ever owned. Thanks for the thorough review, I’m going to keep this hybrid in mind. It would nearly double my gas mileage. Toyotas are great.

The interior was good. I drove one for a week while my car was in service. But the engine was weak (not much punch) and the CVT was horrible. Its low profile was helpful with aggressive canyon drives and I will give kudos to the 40 MPG I got averaging 62MPH.. AN OK car for someone entering the job market from college. Otherwise,... 😞

It is an ecvt, not CVT (very different mechanism, with a superb smoothness) and it is extremely reliable! The engine uses the Atkinson cycle for economy, but the hybrid is giving quite good accelerations. Your negative review doesn't hold water, the Consumer Report placed it since inception as the champion of small luxury crossovers, being the most reliable and with half of the TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) of the German counterparts.

@@codincoman9019 I agree, it's a smooth transmission. Good car for first time drivers

@@cvshav, not only. My wife has this car (the F Sport variant) after a Honda Civic Sport (and some other Japanese cars) and she likes it. Mind you, she is accompanying me for the track-days, driving far better than 90% of the folks there. She had the best female time on the track we like on my Miata ND2. After driving hundreds of different cars (I managed fleets as high as eight hundred smth cars and I get invited to launches, drive-tests etc.) I guess I can evaluate correctly a car or a tyre for the segment it is in.

Looks oddly weird towards the rear IMO, & also looks more like an small, over-styled family station wagon than an actual Crossover. I prefer smaller vehicles, unlike 99% of the USA, but won't be buying a Lexus unless they bring their nice little LBX Crossover to the USA - which I don't see happening.

Recently tried the new UXBase model 2024Didnt take a test drive to know we could hardly get in and out of the car due to the tiny seats. AND SITTING IN THE BACKS SEATS...FAGEDDABOUYIT! We passed.

If this car doesn't meet your standards it doesn't mean at all that it doesn't meet the standards of a small, smart family/couple. Your opinion is yours (try a RX, GX etc.), but it's not for nothing that Consumer Reports placed the UX as the champion of its segment, being the most reliable small luxury crossover and having a TCO less than half that of its German counterparts.

@@CarCoachReportsyes and no. They do share the same chassis, engines etc. But the materials' quality (e.g. Aluminium), the ECU tuning, the soundproofing, the audio, the design etc. make a huge difference (seen in price).
