@@connor_bohnts it’s a speed test! You can’t give 1 company a make belief additional 4 fps for Letoff and not do it for the other company in order to make 1 company look better. I own a VTM and a RX/8 and a V3X. I know all about the difference. Going from 80-85% on a Hoyt and you will not even notice it regarding DL. Mathews always measured 1/2 long but you never see him factor that in. The Mathews was very far off it’s IBO and should not get a 4/5. Not saying it’s a bad bow but he should be honest.

Now rates do nothing because most people that buy one is gonna leave a 5 star. If they don’t then they won’t review. Then additionally everyone is different in what feels good. Some people say the lift isn’t smooths I think it’s draw is smoother yet has a bit heavier feel than all others. To the point I ordered 80# mods because 70# mods was like butter coming back. I personally have never been a big fan everyone calling people fanboys though. Most people have never talked to people that’s a part of the company’s. Mathews is the only manufacturer that will make you feel like family while they brake it off inside you attempting to get you to buy a bow. Hoyt bowtech they don’t even use ky before they rape your wallet.

Another great review, thank you. I went back and watched your Phase 4 29 review. Phase 4 was 330 fps. Lift 29.5 is 333 fps. Not enough to move the needle for me, especially if the draw cycle is any stiffer than Phase 4. For me the upgrade decision will be about the weight savings versus my Phase 4. The lighter weight is very impressive.

@mountaineermaniac7005 Why is PSE close? They specifically list IBO on there bows? It's 5 grains per pound of draw weight UP TO 80#. Why do bows that are unavailable in 80# still show IBO speeds? Why does he crucify Prime for not coming close to their listed IBO speed? Why are they not gifted the same leeway as Mathews? ATA guidelines fall within IBO guidelines as well.

@@setharter IBO guidelines allow a maximum of 80lbs, so if other platforms don’t offer an 80lb option then they can’t test/publish those results at their maximum. I'm now wishing I would have waited on the Bear purchase and saved for a better bow. It's a good bow, don't get me wrong, but it lacks alot of features that the flagship bows have. I'll get a flagship bow one day. I appreciate the advice. Thanks.

I’ll admit this may be the quietest bow on the market, which does make it a joy to shoot. The draw cycle is very linear, it feels like 70# all the way till it drops into the slot, whereas my pse tapers off towards the end. Not better just different. But With a 332.66 average fps I’ll keep my 4 yo evo nxt that’s rated at 329 and ACTUALLY shoots 329 at 30/70/350. At best I’d pick up 4-5 fps not worth the $1400 price tag imo.

The LIFT they were shooting was all decked out with a stabilizer, etc. ( I think it was the factory demo setup sent to the dealer, fully equipped). The Phase 4 was equipped similar and it was easily more quiet. Also, the guy shooting the LIFT said the draw cycle was very heavy at the front end of the cycle. Very interesting! I have not shot one, just sharing what I have seen so far. My dealer said all of the LIFTs so far have come in really heavy in terms of draw weight. My only comment back to Mathews engineers when they say “we can build an aluminum bow better than a carbon bow” is, “Wake up. The customer is asking for a carbon bow from Mathews. Carbon bows aren’t a fad. There are a LOT of customers who would LOVE to have a choice of a Mathews carbon bow. And you are telling them to go buy a Hoyt or Bow Tech or PSE or Elite.” I’m in sales, too. And one rule of thumb I always use is to ask myself “what would my competition think of this strategy?” So I ask you, what would Hoyt and the other carbon bow manufacturers think if Mathews came out with an incredible carbon bow? Would they be all happy, or would it give them heartburn and cold sweats? Yeah, I bet the latter, too. So come on! Let’s see your best carbon bow, Mathews! Carbon is just plain cool for a lot of us, and we know you can do it. Look at those carbon guitars you make. You’re basically telling the top of the market bow buyers, who couldn’t care less about a price difference, to pound sand. How is that a good business decision? Best of luck to you. Hope you offer me a carbon bow someday.

Are the IBO speeds based on the 80lb limbs?

The reason people hate on Mathews isn't because they're bad bows, they're excellent. It's the "fandom ruins everything" mentality. Same reason a lot of people hate Glocks and Milwaukee tools. I like Mathews bows. I've shot a couple older models and liked them but I have two friends that have them and it doesn't matter what you shoot, if it's not a Mathews it's a POS and belongs in the trash. They've done enough innovation with this one to make me consider one for the first time, although the cost of the accessories still may have me leaning towards the Hoyt.

Dude i hear that. But you get what you want dont worry about the internet tribalism, that stuffs gay anyways. The accessory price really isnt that difference except the bridgelock stabilizer. Its about 100 bucks more, after you buy that youre done. I was going to buy an Alpha X but this Lift bow is ridiculous.

Could it be they’re advertising that speed with 80lbs limbs?
