The 2024 Mazda 2 has JUST been facelifted! Again. For the 2nd time... In 10 YEARS!!
Does that mean all hope is lost? Heck no! Today we take a look at the 2024 Mazda2, which has just had another nip and tuck to help it compete with the Kia Picanto and MG3. But in a world where prices keep inflating, including the Mazda 2, can the now $26,000+ Mazda2 stay relevant? It's still one of Australia's cheapest small hatches, but that doesn't mean it's instantly good - let's talk about that in today's review!

I'll never understand why Mazda refuses to put the newer infotainment system in the Mazda 2 like all the other cars? Same with the Mazda 6. It really keeps the car feeling outdated.

they probably have ton of spare ones thats why they keep using them just like apple using the same disaply for iphone 13 and 14 because of spare ones it's cheaper to do one session on manufacturing product with spare ones then change it to 2 manufacturing sessions with different outcomes

I've had my facelifted Mazda 2 for a couple of weeks now. Mine is an auto Evolve hatch (don't like the sedan) with the black mesh grille Love the new front end, more aggressive and sporty. It's smooth, quiet and comfortable and easily keeps up with the traffic. I'm averaging 6.5L/100km around town. Had to pay extra for the optional front armrest but it's worth every dollar. Love the banter between you and Jacob, I always look forward to your next video.

Matt and Jacob, I’d say it’s direct competitor with this is the Suzuki Swift. They are similarly priced.

Okay I've finished it. A great video🥹, so I don't rly mind that you kept me up when I should be asleep. But that body insert at the front is what got me excited when it was first announced and it actually looks amazing, so not having it on the top specs is a complete deal breaker for me. This video has not convinced me to change my mind from getting the 2024 Kia Picanto next month though 😔👌

Wouldn't matter if they acctually made 1000 improvements, nazda are insane pricing this at anything higher than 20-28k from base to fully equipped model. It just crazy to imagine anybody handing over 25-32k and getting this in exchange.

In 1958 nine years pre Vietnam, when I did NASHO at Pukapunual someone parked a mobile field kitchen at the end of the tank firing range. British designed Centurion tanks blew it apart much to the consternation of the Colonel and the poor fool who parked it there. p.s. I just bought a 2024 Kia Picanto to do my bit to save the World. p.p.s. Teachers would say "could do better" Mazda 2.

I have a Mazda 2, turn the AC temperature UP by ONE single click so not on MAX cold and it won’t shut off when the auto start-stop kicks in. Weird, I don’t know why, just randomly had it like that and I noticed with didn’t switch off 😂 but I have the rotary temp controls so I dunno how that will differentiate.

I really dislike this look. Mesh is far better. I drive a Mazda 3, and never really liked the 2, but if I had to recommend a 2, it definitely won't be the lower end, (which would mean I'd end up recommending the lower end 3 anyway)

Don't like the new front end at all. Looks like Mr Grumpy is pissed off coz someone has stolen his grille. Or it's a beady-eyed Mexican with a moustache that isn't quite long enough. For a 1.5 petrol, its slow. The D version is 1.7 sec quicker. I prefer the sedan coz there is not enough room in the boot for 4 adults luggage in the hatch and I hate center arm rests so I'm glad there isn't one.

I like it better than the larger & more bulbous/bloated Mazda3 hatch sold in the USA. Our subcompact segment is basically extinct here. 🙁
