Man I really love Dougs different accents/ voices. There is of course this opulent voice which tells the “plebians“ to get out of the way. Amazing how close this is to our EQS 580. We don’t have auto closing doors, rear massaging seats, rear screens, etc. But we love the 4-level ambient lighting, outstanding rear wheel steering, hyper screen, fragrance dispenser, ionizing air cleaner, massaging front seats, pillows front & rear, ultra smooth / quiet ride, and near 400 mile range. Tesla needs to put some of these luxury features in the model S.

Ambient lighting in Mercedes never fails to look incredibly cheap and tacky. The way they implement it in the dash and doors looks like a kit from ebay and the default pink gives off saints row vibes.

Since they started it the design gives off "spoiled teen girl" vibes as a car that some LA parents would buy for their daughter who has never been told no once in her life because she graduated high school. There is nothing "upscale" or "classy" about the screens and lights. It's very tacky. The seats are nice! And I'm sure the ride is pretty good, but it ends there.

They shove everything in there and prey that it works. The paint quality seems like it was painted on the same production line as first lot Tesla Model 3 from 2018 Just because it has a self closing door like a Rolls Royce doesn't make it anything like Rolls. They don't even bother putting Maybach hood ornament on the hood where it will feels expensive, instead they tag and print Maybach logo all over the car like what Chinese knock-off handbag think luxury is. And this car supposes to represent the pinnacle of what Mercedes can do? Why would anyone spend their money on this heap of garbage is beyond my wallet depth and sense.

So, I have a theory: MB intentionally designed the exterior to be understated and bland… as a means to better disguise the people traveling in the interior. No one buys a 250 kusd electric MB to be seen. People buy it to blend in and avoid drawing too much attention. Think of the CEOs, the Founders, the old money families… they’re the market for these. It doesn’t matter whether we numerous normal people like it. All that matters is if the client base it was designed to serve likes it.

That’s what it’s always been intended to be and Mercedes have always looked understated but the issue comes in when Mercedes stamps their logo all of the exterior. As someone who doesn’t like the items I buy like clothing and shoes to annoyingly apparently advertise the brand I’d never buy a car that told you numerous times what car it was on the exterior
