Really good driving man! I was impressed by seeing this video. Someone finally using these Model 3 Performances for something other than drag racing is nice to see, and with a good driver who really knows how to drive one of these and make full use of its performance. I feel the 2 main weak points of this car is the weight and battery cooling. The Model 3 family in general are very track capable and I really hope someone makes a breakthrough on battery cooling for these performance EVs because I feel that is their weakest point. Despite the weight though the car seemed fairly nimble but you can tell just by listening to the tires and seeing the steering action that this is a really heavy car. Putting those 2 things aside, this thing doing a 1:39.8 is insane. I'm sure if you put better tires on it, it could probably go well into the 1:37 range.
@stevencase2434 ай бұрын
Everything you said is on the money. The weight is heavy but compared to other modern sports sedans it is basically the same. The cooling is the biggest disappointment though. Maybe the next gen car will be an improvement.

Heavier than a dedicated track car of course but pretty average for a modern road orientated sporting saloon/sedan.

Tesla should take a close look at Hyundai... looks like they figured out the cooling with their Ioniq 5 N.
@stevencase2433 ай бұрын
@@Raymaster7482 it's not that Tesla can't solve the problem. They chose not to. They must have determined that it wasn't worth the additional cost and most consumers wouldn't get any value out of the additional cost. But that's also why we are able to have this stupid fast family car for 55k.

OK. First, these can really only be compared to post repave lap times due to big use of the new T5 pavement. Great job braking into T2. You really stayed on the accelerator over/through T1. T9 would definitely left a bit of time on the table. No doubt you can pull off a tenth or two. Nice run. And now with the chargers and new service on site, you can do more than one run without brining in a bunch of diesel electric generators.

The early cars did have ps4s, but somewhere along the line they switched to p zero's. The p zero's are perfectly fine on the street and most likely have less rolling resistance for efficiency.
