It seems good from a spec and battery life standpoint. However, I don't trust the brand from a build quality standpoint. Looking forward to this Lunar Lake CPU in a Dell Latitude 7000s series or Lenovo X1 Carbon Gen 13.

Great and very informative review Andrew! This checks all of the boxes for me for a work laptop, however I am just concerned a bit about the fan noise. Does it ramp up over 40-42 dB when in the Balanced power profile/mode while browsing/watching KZbin videos or while performing more intensive tasks like code compilation?

Zenbook is much heavier, plus i'm not sure if lunar lake is a good investment. The 1365p processor has almost the same specs with 14h battery life but much cheaper. For me the dealbreaker with lunar lake is the ram reservation for the iGPU. If you purchase the 32gb version, then 16gb will be reserved for the iGPU, leaving you with only 16gb for the rest of your system.

Great review as usual. However for me, the 60hz screen makes this a non-starter. I think for that price you should get 90hz or higher. All other aspects are pretty nice for this laptop. One of the better cameras with good mic that i've seen thus far.

Honestly those X elite laptops especially 2nd hand or big discount just make so much more sense than these Lunar Lake's. I'm actually considering a cheap 2nd hand mint condition Yoga slim 7x Which i can use along with my new m4pro maybe m4max macbook. The X elite's are by far the best general purpose - developer WINDOWS laptop in my opinion.

Great video as always, Andrew, thank you. Personally I think no laptop over $1200 should have a refresh rate of only 60hz. So I wouldn't buy this, although it does seem like a pretty good machine otherwise.

Man, this has the numbers I want. But I dislike the MSI keyboards with the tiny arrows and spacing. I will need to swing into Best Buy and see if I can type on it with my fast hands.

Nice pc. For portability to carry on a plane very good and light. Camera was good and mics sounded just okay not great but as you say will get the job done. Agree speakers sounded flat. Display is good and for this size unit and what most users will use this for 60 hz should be okay. Keyboard is just okay not the greatest like Lenovo or Hp. Great quality review always.

I just hit buy on one of these and the spec says 120hz MSI 13.3" Prestige 13 AI+ Core Ultra 9 32GB/2TB Copilot+ PC Does anyone know if it can handle one of those screen extender attachments that have a screen on either side allowing 3 screens? Might be a bit flimsy for that I suppose.

The 2024 MSI Prestige 13 AI+ Evo - 990g Lunar Lake Ultralight Laptop seems okay although not the best due to its cons, mainly RAM not being upgradeable, 60 Hz instead of 90Hz or 120Hz, the loud fan noise and the weak internal speakers. However, if none of this matters to you, there are positives to the laptop with good OLED display, the battery life, Wifi 7 and it has 32GB of soldered internal memory. Also, the webcam and mics are okay. So obviously the pros outweigh the cons and as such, this laptop is just another contender with so many others form different manufacturers. I am also in Australia and would like to know where you got the 120Hz model from? Currently I am looking at the Ultra 9 288V model at Officeworks and would like to make the decision quite quickly as it is at a great price.

@@adild99 I'm sorry for the misinformation, I thought I bought the 120hz version when I bought it from officeworks but they false advertised, as it was actually 60hz. I still kept it because I find that the laptop is powerful for what I do.

The low refresh rate and speakers are the big drawback for this laptop - it seems that most PC companies don't offer as good speakers as Apple. Granted, Apple charges more, but even higher end PC laptops don't have on par speakers.
